PL Club's Don't Need Match-going Fans...

According to Dr Rob Wilson, a sport's finance specialists at Sheffield Hallam, 11 out of the 20 Premier League clubs could play in empty stadiums and still turn a profit.

"When you get a £120m payout from the Premier League for kicking a ball around, you can play in an empty stadium if you need to.

"From a revenue generation perspective, clubs do not rely anymore on matchday ticket income."

Bournemouth, with the smallest ground capacity in the Premier League of just 11,450 and who intend to build a bigger stadium, had a turnover of almost £136.5m in 2016-17, with £5.2m from tickets. That is less than 4p in every £1 of its income for the season.

We've known for ages ticket prices are too high and clubs take the p*ss out of supporters but now, there is literally no excuse for most PL clubs to be charging even £40-60+ for tickets if it doesn't make a difference to their bank balances. It's two hours worth of entertainment, it should cost about £8-12 (edit: maybe a bit low, but around the £15 mark) to go to a football match IMO.

Admins, multi-board?

Football is just another television programme to many.

Well how else do you watch it? On the radio? There's no picture! Unless you somehow got invited along to the filming which I imagine would be pretty expensive.

I think it just goes to show that us that pay our Sky Prescriptions are the REAL fans as we are the ones making the club money, and therefore enabling the club to buy players.

Those plastic fans who refuse to pay their Sky Prescriptions and insist on going to matches are actually costing the club. Us that watch on TV at home should have the biggest say on the direction of the club, as we are funding it. We are the real fans. Pay your F-ing Sky Prescrptions you plastic match going mugs!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Can you get a Sky prescription on the NHS though?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes, and its free in Scotland. Thats why Scottish clubs don't have any money.

The Jocks have to pay the same to watch the Jock league as the EPL fans have to pay to watch the EPL because it all comes under sky/BT. It's like paying for a ticket to Old Trafford and then going to a Cowdenbeath match.
