Leeds United; spreading the gospel.....

http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11715/11477738/marcelo-bielsa-at-leeds-the-view-from-south-america

The glorious years of Leeds United are legendary across almost every continent and that history continues to create new generations of fans.

Apart from the UK our strongholds continue to be Scandanavia and Ireland.

In Bielsa not only has Leeds United made a record-breaking start to a season, created a new form of seating for football (cue IKEA to launch a new range soon.....) but it appears he's also garnering considerable interest in Leeds United specifically in Argentina and Chile.

I suspect there'll be resurgent interest in our club from France too (Cantona, Dacourt and members of Peter Reid's magnificent 7 previously igniting flames of interest amongst our Gallic neighbours).

With the 49ers in the States and AR's media rights bandwagon gaining momentum in almost every corner of the globe, it seems that all the planets are converging at just the right time.

The recent article about some Premier League clubs not needing crowds to turn up to make profits might be unpalatable but getting our brand into different, new markets can only be good for our long-term financial stability.

Leeds United being financially independent, a global brand too coupled with success on the pitch will help us not only maintain our status in the Premier League (when we get there.......) but also help us to compete with the so-called big 4, 5 or 6, whatever it is nowadays.

Truly exciting times for the Mighty Whites.

It doesn’t take a lot for other contries fans to get interested in another club if they have a connection like Bielsa, Radebe or dare I say it for fear of giving Jonty more to rant on about - Ideguchi

Yeah when I was 7 years old and we were in the old second division I was a massive glory hunter. Cockend

You sound like the typical Ragg. Every (Mannure) United fan claims when they started supporting them after they were relegated in 74.

If Risdale hadn't tried to buy success in 90s, you probably would have switched to them too.

Leeds has a population of 1m and 25k gates, their must be a lot of Liverpool fans or something in your city

What your obsession with gates? We're in the second division, our gates are the least of our worries and 25k is wrong anyway, we've sold out both games at home this season, which is 35k with away fans not filling their allocation and Ridsdale didn't even own Leeds when I started supporting them, I lived 10 miles from the ground and went with my Dad as a kid, you absolute moron.

So you didn't support your local side?

I lived next to my side. I guess I could have gloryhunted a bigger club like Arsenal, which was five miles away.

I was born in Leek to a family raised in Lancashire and Yorkshire spending my formative years in area that used to be part of Warwickshire. I supported Leeds United at the age of 4 before they became famous/infamous.

I don't understand this business about supporting your local side. I played for Sutton Coldfield Town which for a good few years was my local team.

Due to my career I've lived in over 20 houses. Which one do I class as being local? Rubbish. You support who you like but stick with them through thick and thin.

If you support your local side you have a deeper connection with your club.

I go to the Bridge with same mates from school.

You can't beat that connection
