Izzy Brown?

PH saying we won't be signing a defender, but we will be signing cover for Saiz. 3 names being banded around today include an Everton and Spurs player, but pick of the bunch, Izzy Brown.

Would be an excellent signing Imo, experience in the championship, getting promoted and adds physicality and a bit of height to our attacking player. I rate him.

Izzy worth signing though?

Article is worth at least 3 for the pun alone

Id prefer a wage cap per club which would be for the benefit of the club and also impact on the number of professionals they employ.

Can we not stick to the thread topic

rather than discussing all the silly mistakes young players make when deciding who to play for.

its not chelseas fault they like signing young players with the potential to be quality

the kids/parents/agents know how tough it is to make it there.

maybe they shouldnt sign for them in the first place.

We are back to a point I keep making, teams should have a cap on the amount of players they have at each age level. They should also have a cap on the amount of players they have over 23, something like 25 registered for the league + 5.

The FA wonder why the England team doesn't do as well as they think it should, THIS is the reason.

It'll never change as the EPL / FA won't want to upset the gravy train.

Dele Alli, Ruben Loftus Cheek, Raheem Sterling, Phil Jones, John Stones, Joe Hart, Joe Gomez etc

All recent England internationals hoovered up by big clubs to be developed. You think that it's an inherently bad thing for international football?

For everyone of those there is another dozen who are signed to a big side and are simply loaned out with next to no hope of first team football.

It's those ones who are held back and loaned which stop lower league clubs being able to develop their own kids, clubs like Crewe who for years churned out decent players being sold for 7 figure sums are long gone.

So now you're changing your tack from it being bad for us internationally to it being bad for smaller clubs. Maybe, but I imagine that the players that do make it would much rather have moved to Chelsea from Crewe or Liverpool from Charlton than stay at their original clubs and eventually make 'big money' moves to the Championship.

If the player is good enough then they will make it. It comes down to the player and they aren't being hindered by the move.

read 50 years of hurt by henry winter, players being good enough isn't sufficient.
