It has been an eventful week for Full Backs. Burnley’s, ex-Wolves Left Back Stephen Ward came home early from international duty with the Republic of Ireland after suffering a foot injury. Meanwhile, Ryan Bennett who plays on the right side of the back 3 for Wolves, had all the wheels stolen off his BMW whilst it was parked on his driveway.
On Sunday Wolves welcome Burnley to Molineux, Ryan Bennett will almost certainly be in the starting line-up, Stephen Ward will almost certainly not be.

Wolves start to the season has been fairly encouraging with scores not always reflecting performances. A somewhat nervous looking performance against Everton resulted in a draw. This was followed by a much more assured performance against Leicester who had all the luck on the day and took the 3 points. A home draw against Man City followed which led Pepe Guardiola to say "It was a very good point. We created chances but their keeper made saves, so today we draw. We knew how good they were this season. No complaints."
An injury time goal from Adama Traore at the London Stadium allowed Wolves to claim all 3 points last time out and left West Ham floundering at the foot of the table

Burnley who finished last season a creditable 7th in the table have not had a good start to this campaign. A 0-0 draw with Southampton and losses to Watford, Fulham and Man U leaves them just one place above West Ham in the table. Still looking for their first league win of the season and with games against Bournemouth, Cardiff, Huddersfield and Man City coming up, the Cardiff and Huddersfield games would seem the most likely to yield that vital win.

Having spent serious money in the transfer window, Wolves owners, Fosun International are expecting big things from their investment and the signs are that Nuno Espirito Santo and his wolfpack are all set to deliver. With the core of the side that ran away with the Championship title last season and strengthened with the additions of Joao Moutinho, Rui Patricio, Leander Dendoncker, Jonny Castro Otto and Adama Traore, Wolves will not be taking any prisoners this season.

Burnley’s foray into the transfer market was much lower key with additions Ben Gibson, Mataj Vydra, Vinnie Steels and the out of favour Joe Hart.
If Sean Dyche is hoping for 3 points from this game, he will need his side to perform well above the standard that they have shown so far this season.

This game will be shown live on Sky Sports Premier League but nevertheless the stadium is sold out. Burnley have been allocated 1,827 tickets in the Stan Cullis Quadrant, which leaves almost exactly 30,000 seats for the Wolves fans. Expect an electric atmosphere and a hell of a lot of noise!

Gem’s prediction 2-0

I see Wardy has 'inadvertently' been dishing the dirt on Roy Keane in the Harry Arter 'scandal'. Maybe they were right and he is Mick's love child after all.

Talking on Mick, I notice Ipswich are struggling rock bottom of their league right now. That'll be where they were when he rescued them. Karma I think you'd call it.

Picked them to finish bottom in the KoP this year, seemed a no brainier given they don't have a manager really and sold anyone that was any good in the summer

We might as well stay on this one now, don't you think?

Thanks OldGold. I don't look down the leagues that much now, except when doing my accumulators for Mr Ladbrokes.

It is surprising that Ipswich backed Mick but haven't backed the new guy though, he doesn't stand a chance given they have sold all their best players in the summer and replaced them with lower league ones.

Not in yesterday's side apparently.

Yes Ipswich sold three players for £10m in the summer. Ones that McCarthy had brought in for about £2m. Good business for a cash strapped club

Remember the good old days when Solbakken bought in a group of players for £13m that we ended up recouping about 2 shillings for. Memories are made of this

Much prefer spending money to become a good premier league team than buying our way into League One

Jesus?!?!?

Whilst we are rewriting history do you remember when Dean Saunders took us to Europe?
