A game of two halves right enough.
First half was like being in the same dream over and over again, pedestrian passing, lack of movement, lack of clinical finishing, lack of awareness. Just an all round p[sh game of football in that first half.
Then the dreaded moment arrives, Ajer goes down, holding his hammy, who’s on the bench, the heart sinks, yip, there it is, the clown in number 4 thankfully there wasn’t too much time for him to do any damage in the first half. 2nd half he got caught under the ball twice and luckily the offside flag saved him, the other one was the one at the end where Lustig gets outjumped, then Bain goes in to nomans land and Hendry has let his guy run off him and almost got a touch into the open goal.
What concerns me now is we have Ajer likely out for a few weeks minimum, likely missing the semi final. Boyata, the absolute b@wb@g that he is decided to get himself sent off. It was a red card when you watch it back, Rodgers is furious with him, you can tell that in his interview and he did say he’s apologised to his team mates AGAIN. We need Benkovic back for this weekend or Jack Hendry is here to stay
2nd half overall was much better though, much like the team we know, passing was crisp, movement was there and we were creating chances with ease. We could have won by 6 or 7 last night and it would have been deserved on the 2nd half showing. We need to keep that tempo going it’s as simple as that.
Morgan needs to start a few games now, very lively. Both footed and he’ll get a few goals from distance which is what we’ve been lacking of late too. Rogic looked much better when he came on as well.
We’re into the semi final then and that’s all that matters but we now need to win on Saturday so we can go into the Salzburg game with confidence.

Glaring stat from last night - Celtic were awarded 3 frees with 63% possession, St Johnstone had 14 frees from 37% possession
No wonder big Boyata was like a weasel

That ref last night was awful
Honestly he could not wait to award st Johnstone anything at all , he was really annoying me .
He wasn't giving the handball either when celtic scored , I don't like him at all . I think he favours the plucky underdogs in his approach
