Regardless of whether you think he deserves it or not the Hall of Fame thing with Gazza has been very badly handled. Announcing and then withdrawing a nomination is quite wrong. If there is a 'moral character' test to be applied to nominations then that should be detailed and then perhaps it should be applied (even retrospectively) to existing Hall of Famers to see go how many of them were fine upstanding chaps without a stain or blemish on their character.
I had actually thought that it was because he was Englih and it was only for Scottish footballers, but no as Henrik and Laudrup are both members.
Gaza carries his own particular demons and has not always been a shining example of moral rectitude, but this award is given for football FFS and much as it pains me to say it - that bastert Gazza was a footballer.
