not that he has many defenders left but its painfully obvious now to most if not all in how much we lack in the striker department, when we signed him I admit I wasn't overwhelmed but believed with good coaching he good be a very good goal scorer for us. Now his goal scoring record is not bad but the deficiency in his play which were there 3-4 years ago are still there, the guy hasn't improved, his touch, dribbling, finishing is the same as it was at everton where he could maybe hide from the media limelight if he had 5-6 bad games, now at utd there's no hiding place, 1-2 bad games and the pressure mounts
now arguments can be made that getting players around him will make him perform better i.e. belguim but that's not the point, the guy should be improving his game but it looks like he's plateaued at a very young age, can anyone really see him improving his all round game in the near future? his performance against juventus was tragic I mean it was like playing with 10 men, his place doesn't seem to be under threat so there's no motivation to push himself and it looks like were stuck with him for the foreseeable future "sigh"

True. They’d look great either side of Fred on our bench.

Just don’t get what he’s thinking sometimes
................
More importantly, neither do the players.
Arab posted this today from Marcello Lippi. It is the most damning but bang on accurate comment I have seen from another manager.
“I was surprised by the non-play of Manchester United. United can’t stand and watch another team for an hour."

But Willian can’t cross. He’d have been better off signing some proven full backs.

Rob is such a massive wum but he's also a pus say.
He filtered me for slating lukaku and calling him a wum.
.................
No wonder his threads don't get any comments these days. That is you, I'll be the Judge and me that he has filtered.
I am sure there are a few more.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Me too. Tbh I'm flattered.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lol he filtered me cos I said Lukaku was anonymous against France. He really is in full meltdown mode, Nobb used to say he would only filter people who are abusive towards him but now it just takes being on the same thread to get filtered it looks like

I don't really think that Perisic or Willian would have changed too much to be honest. Jose should have just stuck with Martial on the left, who was on for 9/10 league assists before Jose signed Sanchez, which is what Perisic managed last year. And Willain's assists to games ratio in the PL is worse than Martial's and only marginally better than Rashford's. Valencia's assists to games ratio is actually better than Willian's in the PL.
Better to coach the young promising forwards that we already have, rather than splash cash on someone who isn't any/much better and who has already reached their peak. I think that it is the fullback positions that really need attention. Hopefully with Dalot we have one on the right that can cross. Shaw has looked a little better with his delivery this season, but is another that needs some coaching in this area. Time for Jose to earn his money. There is no reason why players of their quality shouldn't be able to improve their crossing with the right support.

agree with most of what you said but some players whatever amount of coaching they get just cant do certain things as well as others, shaws maybe a fb who bombs down the line and is more of a direct runner and crosses into a certain area rather than to a specific target than someone like dalot who's crosses are more pinpoint to a certain player? we someone have to accept what players are and play to that which we clearly don't atm

Yes, Shaw is never going to be a great crosser of the ball. However, that doesn't mean that we shouldn't be helping him with his crossing. I think that crossing is certainly something that can be improved with practice. You just have to keep doing it over and over and over.
