At the time you guys were linked with him I thought you were setting the bar too low but then you aimed a lot lot lower for a guy barely making waves in the Championship.
In hindsight Shaqiri would've likely been an excellent signing for Spurs just given how desperately some fresh ideas and impetus was and is needed.
Do you guys think he would have been a worthwhile signing?
Xherdan Shaqiri

It's what I said at the time, you were fairly stocked in that position and he wasn't that great but... now I kinda think for the price he might have been well worth it for spurs. In part just psychologically as the zero signings is a bit of a monkey on your back that adds pressure
He's a decent player and starting to look quite versatile at Pool

Spurs need a Hazard, Sanchez (2 years ago) kind of player. Not squad players.
If it wasnt for the sudden decline of players like Dembele & Wanyama Spurs literally needed one big signing to play alongside Kane and Alli.
Problem is even their defense has declined with Walker leaving and Rose not being the same player. add lloris to the equation and you can almost say " Arsenal"

Pretty fair comment tbf. Though I think you have got it slightly wrong. Now with Lucas, plus Son, when in form we don’t need another attacking player who likes to float and come inside from the flanks.. what we do need is a proper ball carrier/deep lying playmaker to replace Dembele. He hasn’t been reliable or consistent going on two years now.
And like you say, the main problem has been we had the best defence two years in a row in the prem. only for Walker to go and be replaced with lesser quality and Rose to lose his way. Add to that the Toby contract issue and the picture paints itself.

Spurs have enough quality in that department with Alli, Eriksen, Lamela, Son and Lucas.
They need a CM and a decent back up ST

Right.. but Sissoko still gets paid £90,000 a week and finds himself in the team. Shaqiri would have been a £12m improvement

Sissoko was Spurs best player last week at West Ham. Give him a break FFS.

Unless the reason it's broken are that the hands have fallen off.
Or it's digital.

He wasn’t needed. The roles behind Kane is our strongest area of our squad.

Fat, lazy and over rated.
He only looks decent at Pool because referees keep gifting them free kicks, penalties and offside goals.
No thanks.

Billy the Div is spot on. Shaqiri only looks good because Milner scored a penalty this season
