Sturridge bet reason

Anyone seen this?

According to sky sports, it was a £10,000 bet by a family member on Sturridge going to Inter Milan back in January.

I don't really get how Sturridge can be charged for this though. It was a failed bet so how can it be inside info? Plus is Sturridge supposed to not say anything to his family about where he might move just in case someone puts a bet on it?

Unless they have proof that Sturridge told said family member he is definitely going Inter Milan so stick a bet on it, I don't get why he would face punishment for this.

On the Sunday Supplement on Sky, it was claimed that of the adverts played during the course of a PL game, 95% of them are for betting, online or otherwise. Good luck to them that bet; for me it's a mugs game.

Its a primitive view about betting.

People who think they can bet their way to magnificent riches are the ones who end up disappointed and feeling mugged.

Betting is like a pint.

You do it for enjoyment but too much or more than you should is bad for you, same goes for everything else actually. It can be addictive, like anything else.

However, that doesn't make it a bad thing. Most people bet what you would normally spend on a pint or two and it provides a thrill, spices up the game no end and the possibility of making money while enjoying all that.

I placed a small bet on a City win because I wanted United to win or draw. When City won I made a few quid which was a little consolation and a good laugh.

Ultimately, most indulgences are neither good nor bad. It depends on you so it isn't about the game, its about the player.

The day I hear about a poverty-stricken bookie is the day I start gambling. Hell will freeze over first.

Bet365 bint awarded herself a salary of 265m.

Utterly obscene.

The lady in question will be undoubtedly disappointed that the news of her salary has gone public.

If she's paying herself that much, how's she gonna feel when the taxman comes calling? She should be paying circa £104M p.a. Tax, at least. And what about the company? They're gonna be in a difficult place trying to convinceHM R &C that honest, they haven't made a bean!
