They need to review the voting process, as in stop players from voting. How on earth did Benzema make the final 30?

Bit harsh to kroos, Madrid’s cbs and their full backs.

Don't really get why the world cup has had such a massive influence in voting this year. Messi won the Ballon d'Or in 2010 but didn't even score in the world cup, Ronaldo scored once as Portugal were knocked out the group stages in 2014 when he won it.

Would be a bit annoyed if I was Xavi or Iniestia that the world cup is suddenly so important to the award.

Those years Messi and Ronaldo were so far ahead individually. Nowadays they are not scoring 60 odd a season so humans are now considered for the award. Now people start looking at who won what etc as players are worse now and football is awful. I hope that solves it.

This is my point. At the same time, the likes of Griezmann, Mbappe and Varane make the final 10 off the back of the World Cup, yet Umtiti is nowhere to be seen. I’m not advocating that all 23 players make the shortlist, but there’s so much inconsistency in the voting.
