I mean if Levy gets a 50% increase in salary do you think the cheese room manager will be turning up to his door complaining why he hasn't got one too? Or when we hire a new member of staff would they be looking at Levy's salary and demand parity?

Dunno... Depends if the Cheese room manager goes to be one of the finest Center halves ever to play for Spurs

How can you possibly be negative about anything to do with spurs at the moment ???!!!

I'm not mate..... I mostly do it to annoy Sandy, Been a great season... Incredibly impressed with Poch & the team. Levy pi55es me off but nothing new there

I think you're going too deep into it.

I've complained about the summer transfer debacle and it's impact on us winning trophies but whilst i still want us to win a trophy and think we did wrong by not strengthening you can't link that with Toby's contract.

If Toby wants to leave for £180k and we can £25m for him then so be it. It sets a huge precedence which we are slowly working towards with bigger contracts but no need to accelerate.

Just enjoy everything that's happening. Otherwise you're only ever going to enjoy Spurs if we're winning trophies year in year out. There's more to it than that.

It`s a strange situation, if you believe the rumours, Poch went to bat for Toby re his contract negotiations and TA was all set to sign before he took some bad advice and then came back asking for more money. Whether the new contract is still on the table is anybody`s guess, but Toby is a top player and we should be looking to secure his services long term. It would be madness to let him leave.

Nobody is 'letting' him leave but it's also unwise to bend over any demand a player has. I'll never choose a side because it's all speculation so there's no need like others on here to defend either Levy or Toby entirely - truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

If what you said is remotely true then you can understand Levy's stubbornness to not improve on original deal. Equally, you can see why Toby would want to get the most out of this contract.

This thread has already petered out into banalities, but since it was about Alderweireld - and Levy - I'll just say this ... Levy has at last seen a little common sense, this club will do nothing this season without Toby ....
