Cesc on the way out ?

There’s been a few rumours, and even hints / quotes from Fabregas himself in last few months that he might be off. Today these seemed to hit the tipping point - it looks like it may happen:

@SiPhillipsSport: Cesc Fabregas is very close to the termination of his Chelsea contract. According to Spanish outlet Marca, Fabregas is working on a solution with Chelsea and everything could become official in the next few hours.

@CareFreeYouth: Now Cesc Fabregas stuff is out I'll share. He got offered a new deal at Chelsea which he rejected. The club came in with a new offer but he wants to play and clubs like Monaco and AC Milan are offering him first team football. Chelsea are looking for a new back up regista #CFC

In a nutshell it appears his contract will be terminated in January and a number of clubs are interested in him. If true, bit disappointing we couldn’t keep him till summer at least. Pretty good back up for Jorginho.

Problem is when you don’t he’s pretty useless. Amazing to think that Fabregas and Ramsey will be available on free transfers and that it’s Ramsey that Juve look likely to sign.

In his first season, yeah. Not so much last season, thought he was poor. Will be interesting to see if they both end up at Milan.

Not good enough to start for us anymore sadly. Been a fantastic signing.

It’s sad watching him become the player he has. I know he played a lot of football from a very young age, and like many before him burned out at a younger age than others, but it’s still sad to see. The game just passes him by and he hasn’t adapted well to losing what little dynamism he did have.

That's a pretty good appraisal of the Fabregas of today!

Maurizio Sarri has talked up Cesc Fabregas' importance to his #Chelsea set-up and said he wants the midfielder to stay at Stamford Bridge. (@SkySports)

It’s a difficult one from Chelsea’s position because Jorginho’s role in this set up is important but there aren’t that many players of his ilk that could be brought in as backup. I don’t even think Cesc is particularly adequate given he struggles performing that deep role, which is suprising given his passing ability.

We should have bought siggurdsson

Also there's no reason we can't use Luiz in that position
