Liverpool improved their squad only out of the money of selling players is a myth. But yes they have done extremely way to manage their main asset like Coutinho to sign a new contract before contracts running out is remarkable business.

Forgetting the fact that that 10 year period saw us takenover from an ownership that was running the club into the floor.

Owner investment during a takeover is evident isn’t it?

It can get rather difficult when one is down at the pub trying to explain how none of the 100s of millions of £s spent on Arsenal shares ever end up at the club.

The charts and spreadsheets should lend a bit of respectability the next time this discussion comes up after the 7th pint of Guinness.

Well if he does reach into his tight pocket this month, there’s still a good chance we could finish 4th and he can make lots more money from champions league. Unless Chelsea have a big dodgy spell, with The squad as it is I can’t see us getting 4th. Especially with injuries 6th/5th is this squads peak. No decent players brought in, it’ll be very likely we’ll be Europa again, making less money, ultimately leading to less sponsorship money. Make the investment now, and back this manager to build team he needs! Could be very much worth it in a few years.

Man City’s owners pumped £1.3 billion cash into the club in the last 10 years. FFP obviously worked well

That’s got nothing to do with ffp. That’s the p&l, not the balance sheet.

The only ‘investment’ the Glazers have made in the club are paying off debts that they themselves saddled the club with when they bought us.
