Very Sad News to Share

I regret to share what many of us suspected and feared.

Our fellow poster and devoted Leeds United fan, Harj, passed away on March 31, 2018.

A few of us, including Harj, met up for a few pints in the Black Prince on Boar Lane before the Birmingham or Burton game in September 2017 and Sol and I met up with him in Billy’s Bar after the Ipswich game. He and I went to another location afterwards and had such fun together that I missed my train to London.

He was a very friendly man and a dedicated, passionate fan. We have missed him here but at least we got to know him, feel free to share any interactions you had with Harj over the years.

Condolences to his family, I actually met his son, RIP Harj.

Dear all, I have come to see the football family and read all the heartfelt messages for Harj. They are so special and comforting to know that he was well liked and part of another family. Leeds United was his life and passion.

Hi Surjit,

I was fortunate to meet Harj when I was last in Leeds in September 2017. We were on our way to a pub after a game and we bumped into your son and I believe his cousin. He was visiting from out of town (Manchester?) and Harj introduced me to him. He was in town on a surprise visit.

Harj and I had such a good time that I even missed my train back to London that evening.

He also told me about your cousin, Taj, and fortunately I introduced myself to Taj at the next game that I was out.

I consider myself lucky to have known him.

Hi Jonny,
Thank you for your kind message and thank you for all the hard work you have put into finding out what happened and letting everyone know.
I did wonder what the forum would be thinking but I never thought they would be so concerned.
Jonty is working hard behind the scenes to get the tennis day arranged and of course the tile. We are so proud of everyone who has contributed and taken the time to respond.

Been working this week and missed this

Hi Surjit,
I met Harj at meet ups a few times after speaking to him on the old 606, and he was waiting by Billys Statue for me the Last time I came to Leeds for a game with your Son and Nephew, only had time for a pint before the game but it was so good to see a friendly face after driving down from the Highlands.
I'll really miss Harj as we All will but he'll live on in our memories a true gentleman.

Sincere Condolences from the Highlandwhite Family

Surjit - I never met your husband, we only crossed paths on occasions on the Leeds board. Many heartfelt condolences from a Sheffield Wednesday fan - We're All Part of the Football Family, Aren't We.
