Indeed ROF, interesting times. Bring it on.

I've long said that Celtic can't improve till Rangers.

We welcome the chase.

This is a make or break situation for Rangers this season. Win the league and they still have 4 CL qualifying rounds to get to the Group stages. It’s a huge throw of the dice.

I’ve no idea where they’ll be in terms of finance and how they move forward if this doesn’t work for them. Huge losses which will be repeated this season regardless of what happens and they’ve just significantly added to their cost base. Don’t win the league and they won’t be able to cover the wage bill for the next season without even further losses.

At what point do the soft loans outweigh the asset value and where are they if King is eventually brought to task over the TO ruling. Isn’t that date up again soon?

Massive season this for Rangers. Even if they did win it there would be such a backlash from our support everything would be done to prevent a repeat.

It’s not a good model at all.

I imagine they’ll be relying on selling Morelos in the summer to cut losses.

We’ll have at least increased revenue this year with Europe, all the extra games that brought and increased season tickets, and hopefully impact of the kit sales is seen.

The signings of Kamara and Jones make sense financially at least. If we do sell Morelos for a good wedge there will be calls for it to be reinvested by fans so will be interesting to see what happens. But don’t think you’ll find any Gers worrying about that till after this season with things shaping up well!

Absolutely agreed in that fans won’t give a shiny, especially if you did win the league.

And that was always my argument as to why I was genuinely concerned that you’d get Ashley. Bottomless money pit and his ego wouldn’t let him not be successful particularly in a league like ours.

Bears just didn’t want him earning massively out of it thank fwck. Their loss as far as I’m concerned.

Can’t agree with you on Ashley. His ego, him being a fan of Newcastle and the riches of English football haven’t seen him invest any money there.

Anyway, at least Defoe is at our club and going to be banging them in soon.

Defoe is apparently on 65k a week. Nowhere near the figures previously quoted.

Bournemouth picking up a massive wedge of that.

We tried to sign him in summer and Eddie howe said no, defoe himself has insisted on moving due to lack of playing time.

I feel much better about this signing now.

Newly capped England striker Callum Wilson is rated around the £50m mark and Joshua King was recently linked with return to Man Utd around the £30m mark.

Its no real shocker Defoe was third in line to these two tbh.

You never know how it will work out but he does strike you as the kind of dedicated experienced professional that will give it his everything.

We have a relatively young squad so to have an experienced spine of McGregor - Defoe- Davis can hopefully help us in the run in.

Looks fit as a fiddle defo, worries me a tad tho that he’s 36 and bound to have lost some pace but hopefully up here it won’t be as problematic. Certainly knows where the goals are and you’d imagine if he gets two chances he will take one.
