With County losing to Morton, and Ayr losing at home to Falkirk, you're either in one of two camps - this is a point gained, or this is two points dropped.

It's two points dropped for me. Maybe I'm just a glass half empty person.

If we want to win the league (we won't) then we need to be winning games like this. And in the first half we were nowhere near winning this.

The first half was abject. If I was Gary Caldwell I'd have been disappointed coming in only a goal to the good. They should have been out of sight. We were absolutely awful and were never in the game. We were slow to every ball and they won every second ball. We didn't compete, we didn't move the ball well and it was extremely poor.

Neilson made the change at half time and took off Aird, brining on new signing Aiden Nesbitt. He made a big difference. United were the better side after the break and, after Fyvie scored from the spot after Nesbitt was fouled (looked very soft) we should have went on to win it, Nesbitt himself missing a couple of glorious chances.

It's probably a good time to make some comment on the players involved:

Siegrist - a far better option than Rakovan in the goal but I'm still not convinced by him.
Murdoch - your typical 5 or 6 out of 10 player every week. He's okay but not good enough.
Booth - better than Robson but then I'm better than Robson. Full backs are a weak area of the team.
Bouhenna - I thought he was terrific when he joined but seems to be becoming increasingly unsure of himself. A bit slow and it gets exploited.
Frans - Meh. Okay, not better than that.
Fyvie - the elephant in the room is that Fyvie, while being our best footballer and user of the ball, is not fit and can barely run. He unbalances our midfield.
Stanton - should be doing more but I think he has to do more running because of the Fyvie issue. I like him but he falls out of games too easily - not a strong enough player or character.
Aird - terrific set pieces almost make up for his lack of ability and poor decision making during open play. Almost. Can't play on the left.
McMullan - all his hard work and determination doesn't make up for his lack of tactical awareness and poor finishing and decision making.
Smith - had yet another chance to show he can add something to the team and didn't take it again. He's not going to make it.
Safranko - His workrate and ability in the air are terrific. His link up play is abysmal.

Nesbitt - changed the game when he came on. Got into great pockets of space and gave them lots of problems. Looked very rusty though which may explain his snatching at shots.
King - Isn't good enough. Goes missing too often.

Grand. Could be a decent signing to be honest.

Ivan.

Did a striker really leave United for Dundee at the weekend?

Yes, Craig Curran was an unused sub on Saturday then after the game he went across the road and signed for Dundee.

He's rotten and doesn't get a game for us.

Craig Curran looked excellent in his love role up top.
Intrigued to see if we can build the team around him and put together a bit of a run.

All set up for Curran to score the winner in the Dundee v Utd playoff game.
