On Saturday Wolves make the short journey to Shropshire to take on Shrewsbury Town in the 4th round of the FA Cup.
Despite the fact that there are only 30 miles separating them, the two clubs have only met on 10 previous occasions. Of these games only 2 have been in the FA Cup, the others being in league division two (4), league division one (2) and the League Cup (2)

The most recent games between the two sides were in the 2012/2013 season in division one. When Wolves won 1-0 at Shrewsbury, the Wolves starting 11 including Shrewsbury midfielder Dave Edwards and the Shrews Manager Sam Ricketts.

To arrive at the 4th round draw, Wolves overcame Premier League leaders Liverpool. Shrewsbury’s journey has included wins against Salford City, Scunthorpe United and Stoke City. Although Wolves are 52 places above the Shrews in the league, Nuno Espirito Santo will not be taking the opposition lightly, possibly the mistake made by Nathan Jones, Manager of Stoke City.
Nuno’s first game in charge of Wolves on English soil was pre-season friendly against Shrewsbury in July 2017, a game which the Shrews won 2-0.

It’s 59 years since Wolves last won the FA Cup having won it on four occasions and been runners up a further four times. The last time they reached the 5th round was in 2017 when, after beating Stoke and Liverpool they lost at Molineux to Chelsea.
Shrewsbury have had their share of FA Cup successes, probably the most famous one being the 2-1 defeat of Everton causing one of the biggest upsets in FA Cup history. Ironically, this happened in the 2002/03 season when later they were relegated to the Conference.
The last time the two sides met in the FA Cup was in March 1979 in a quarter-final replay when Wolves claimed a 3-1 victory.

Wolves will be without defender Willy Boly who is suspended but such is the strength in depth of the Wolves squad, Nuno will be able to make changes to his side without significantly weakening it.
Sam Ricketts will doubtless field his strongest side in an attempt to progress through to the next round.
With a total capacity of just less than 10,000 there should be a good atmosphere inside New Meadow for this game. With Wolves ticket allocation of 1,591 being sold out, the travelling support will make up around 25% of the crowd.

Expect a high tempo game. Expect Shrewsbury to throw everything at Wolves. Expect to see ‘Dangerous Dave’. Expect to see Newly signed keeper Reice Charles-Cook. Expect a lot of noise from the travelling support. Expect Wolves to win!

Gem’s prediction: 0-3

Spirit Airlines are not the best airline to fly, that's for sure, but I'm surprised you had to take the shuttle, as they only fly out of Terminal B. Unless they put you on another airline out of Terminal A, then you would need the shuttle.

Had to take the shuttle to the front desk to re-book on to another flight. We also had to collect our bags from a carousel and re-check them. We did fly from the same terminal but it wasn't just a case of walking on to another flight.

Spirit are the equivalent of Ryan air, cheap and cheerful but like I said yesterday wasn't really their fault.

Given the flights cost 113 bucks each k should be grateful we got there at all though nine hours late.

Yes saw the last hour of the game. Won 1-0 through a Niall Ennis penalty. Don’t know how they won. Outplayed for most of the time and Fulham had two goals disallowed and missed 3 or 4 really good chances. Wolves passing was generally poor. Not many impressed on the day. Best I thought was Heredia on the right of the front 3, and Sanderson on the right of the back 3. The keeper Sanderborg made a couple of good saves. And Austin Samuels looked good when he came off the bench late on to replace Oskar Buur who seemed to pick up a nasty knee injury. They are top of the league now so they must be able to play better than they did today

Not really heard much of Heredia. Kilman and Giles possibly in the squad for Shrewsbury tomorrow apparantly.

Haven’t seen Kilman but Giles looked a good player in the making in pre season
