I can't see anyone else coming in. I know Sarri wanted to buy a replacement midfield player for Fabregas, but I don't think we are going to pay over £35M for a substitute - even though we have done that plenty of times before with Bakayoko, Drinkwater, Morata etc. At least those players were purchased with the thought that they could be first team players. A replacement for Fabregas will definitely sit on the bench - and I don't think Sarri will complain too much if we don't get anyone this month. Especially now that he has Higuain.

Outsider lookkin in...why sell Fab?

I fully expect us to get the Fabregas replacement in even if we get robbed on money, we wouldn't have let him go otherwise.

I doubt we'll do it cos our board would never back a manager this much, but considering we're after a backup to Jorginho (who'd be willing to accept the backup status) we could bid for Sandro Tonali. High risk purchase at approx 30mil for a young player living on raw potential right now, but several of the Italian media have lauded him as the next Pirlo. We've made far stupider, more expansive signings quite recently.

Why no strikers?

Why a replacement for Cahill? We have Luiz, Rudi, Christensen, Ampadu, Miazga. Maybe if you anticipate Luiz not extending as well.

Why a replacement for Willian? We have Callum Hudson, Callum Odoi, Calling Hudson-Odoi, Pulisic. Maybe if you anticipate Hazard leaving as well.

Why a replacement for Fabregas? We have Danny feckin Drinkwater. Enough said.

We are a complete team. No more signings.
