The cost of EPL Football

Taken from a program on BBC Radio 4, this is English humour at its best.
There was a discussion about the high cost of entry into Premiership football games.
The cheapest price ranging between £60 and £100 or more per game is now not uncommon.

An older chap who was being interviewed said he could recall many years ago
arriving at the turnstiles , after a long absence from the game, and being told: -
“That will be ten quid, mate".
"What?!" the old chap said in surprise, "I could get a woman for that!"
To which the fellow on the turnstile retorted,
"Not for 45 minutes each way with a brass band and a meat pie at half time, you couldn't!"
