On Monday Wolves host Newcastle United.
Currently ‘Best of the rest’ Wolves have cemented themselves into 7th position in the table following wins against Leicester, West Ham and Everton.

Newcastle, currently in 15th place in the table are just 2 points clear of the drop zone. With a goal difference of -12 and having conceded less goals than both Man U and Arsenal it is clear that their problems lie up front and not at the back. In fact, only bottom placed Huddersfield have scored less goals than Newcastle.

Until recently, scoring goals was also a problem for Wolves however, having scored 15 in their last 5 games (in all competitions) it would seem that they have found the solution to that problem.

In the reverse fixture in December, Wolves ran out 2-1 winners with Newcastle having played the final 38 minutes with 10 men. Rafa Benitez was less than happy with some of referee Mike Dean’s decisions and Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo said the red card "changed the game" and admitted his side were "lucky to beat them in the end".

With both Ruben Neves and Diogo Jota rested for Tuesday’s FA cup tie, both should be available having fully recovered from the minor injuries that they received during the last league game against Everton. The squad flew out to Marbella on Wednesday morning for a short training camp and barring any knocks in training, should all be available for selection.

Newcastle will go into this game with huge confidence after having beaten Man City at home and narrowly losing to Spurs at Wembley in their previous two games. Despite their league position, The Magpies are no pushover and Wolves will need to be at their best to make it 4 league victories in a row.

This game will be shown live on Sky Sports main event

Gem’s prediction: 1-0

Didn't realise Zinchenko was actually starting games for City now, goes to show he was right to reject us and have faith in his ability i guess
----------------------------------------------------------------------
"He was right to reject us."

Let that sink in, then read the positivity, regarding our ambitions, from Jeff Shi in the Birmingham Mail.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So Bute what you are saying is that Zinchenko should have left Man City, one of the best teams in Europe, to join Wolves who according to Jeff Shi, with patience, will be one of the best teams in Europe eventually.
I'm sorry but you will have to explain your reasoning there.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The reasoning is that players have to have the courage to join us for our project, as Moutinho, Neves, Jota, etc have done.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But Moutinho, Neves, Jota, etc were not already playing for "One of the best teams in Europe" Zinchenko was and therefor was, as Cinci stated, right to turn down a move to a club with big ambitions but no guarantee of success.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But they believed in, and were sold, the dream that is underway. I like that. And I like positivity about the club.

Anyone who is perpetually negative about us, whether its past or present players or other personnel, isn't something I like to entertain. And it can get wearing.

But yet in league one you literally spent the entire time telling us about the players and manager we used to have rather than the ones we did.

Not disrespectful at all

No easy games v Newcastle or Rafa but we should, on form and all reasonable expectations, win tomorrow.

This geezer they signed from the NFL or summat is a bit of a mystery though. He'll probably score but hopefully we'll get 3 in response.

A lot of money for an MLS fella wasn't it

Didn't even score a bag load.

Though i guess they did win the title last season but he hasn't played since december when the season ended.

Is he any good? Big step up from Atlanta to the PL. Tomorrow notwithstanding, I hope he turns out to be rubbish. Mike Ashley is taking the pizz out of those daft Geordie lads and breaking their 14 year old transfer record on crap would be the icing on the cake.

I read that a lot of thick Geordie s thought they'd signed him from Atalanta
