Derby County 2 - 0 Hull City

Pride Park

A long awaited return to Pride Park for the Faithful tempered by a frisson of trepidation as we rack our heads trying to remember the last convincing win .

Which Derby will turn up? We have slipped out of the play-offs but incredibly still remain in contention as other teams stutter and fail to convince. However when they don't convince they convince in a far more convincing fashion than Derby.

There is talk of Ashley Cole making his debut - again but more intriguingly there is the new messiah Andy King who could slot in, as could Bradley Johnson but not Ikechi Anya.

Pride Park is crying out for a convincing victory to cheer us up. I'm not sure if it is a dearth of activity on transfer day or just the up/down/dis-interested attitudes of some of our players that has contributed to the slightly flat (south stand) atmosphere at Pride Park but something definitely needs igniting. Now give me reasons, below, to be cheerful.

Derby have 7 less points than at this stage last year and Hull have only lost one in their last twelve.

Team news to follow.

Ipswich are really like us in our last Premier League season. Everybody's whipping boy.

Norwich and Sheffield United both failed to beat Ipswich at Portman Road. You ought to let them know Spart that they have no hope of promotion.

I think ive played enough and seen enough to know Ipswich will be no whipping boys tmoro or Wednesday. We play well Wednesday then we have a great chance of winning.

Loving the business end of things

Just remember we've got a knack of losing to all the garbage teams this season, I'm not taking Ipswich for granted whatsoever.

That’s why we will give them a lesson.

Because we won’t

Always good to wake up the following day, with a good win under your belt.
Wet one today, so no bike out. Won't stop you runners though.
A chance to concentrate on the Old Farm game and Eng v France
