Premiership Footballers Sign Petition

To end plastic pitches

https://stv.tv/sport/football/1435519-premiership-players-sign-petition-to-ban-plastic-pitches/

Can't see it having much affect due to the cost involved for clubs but I think most are in agreement they're pash.

Holland may well do ok with them but we're clearly buying chep pash.

Know a few guys that I played footie regularly with on astroturf that have done there ACLs on it, a couple that done it again since. They’ve always blamed the pitches but I’ve no idea on stats

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I done my ACL on grass , totally the fault of the grass on this occasion

Had to jump a little to try and bring a ball down , leg landed and boot/studs got caught in the mud ..my body weight went the other way

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Iv dislocated my knees at least 9/10 times. First time i done it was playing basketball, a new varnished court. I went to twist one way, cos of the grip on the floor my knee didnt fancy it and stayed where it was whilst the rest of my body turned... I fall in a heap screaming ... look down and my knee cap is sticking out the side of leg !!

Cue about 4 lassies screaming out the gym.... To this day when i meet them they say the still remember it! Since then ia hev done it every time playing football but only once on grass the rest have been on astro.

However once it happens once its far more likely to happen again. After my 4th time docs said they wanted to open my knees and put some sort of artificial ligaments in to stop it but i wouldnt be able to play anymore.

I literally told him it wasn't happening and i will see him again then !!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is pretty much the history of my knee.

Eacg time more painful.

3 ops now and they've taken a hamstring and used it as a fake ligament.

Last time in front of the ja 5s lads was embarrassing. Screaming like a lassie

----------------------------------------------------------------------
na each time for me has been a little less painful... First time i did was more fear cos i had no idea what had happened scared i wouldnt walk a again... bloddy paramedics come in gimme some "oxygen" straighten the leg out and just pop it back in...... leg shaking for about 2 hours after it.

I done it once in fives and as I fell my hand made a sweaty imprint on the wall and slid all the way down as I fell... looked like a horror scene pic

Think mine got worse as the kneecap has now taken chunks of leg bone out on its route out.
X Ray is weird. They've removed some shards but lots still sitting in the muscle

All joking aside, Lauders, you will be in a really bad state when you grow older unless you buy a bionic leg 🦵

Na with me the kneecap wrecked the cartilage behind tjhe knee.. Need to drain the knee of blood.. The doc said that there should be about 7ml of blood in ur knee... He syringed 7 x 35ml out and was just shaking his head after the third

Always get that horrible feeling when I see some one strain their knee playing. That way ur leg tenses up as does ur stomach cos u know exactly the feeling. Horrible
