So who should captain the team

This Saturday who is going to captain the team.
Last game it was Kasper after his fathers intervention should he captain the team on Saturday?

You want to punish Kasper for the actions of another man?

Harsh.

Shall we blame WWII on him as well?

The reality is, Kasper should be having internal conversations to discuss his situation. If he’s committed to the team and the cause, he should continue and have a quiet word with his dad.

If he’s unhappy about the manager and the current situation and is looking to leave, then Ward should come in and we facilitate his exit.

However, despite your views Nev I’ve never heard anything other than Kasper being a good influence and a respected player. So he should probably continue.

Maguire can have the band in the summer as an incentive to stay!

Schmeichel should be club captain, Maguire first team captain.Morgan is sadly finished in first team.
Always thought Magure would captain England one day.

Nev,

I guess there is a broader discussion that we need to consider here.

There has been talk of evolving the team and phasing out the stars of 2015/16. It’s a similar job to the one Peter Taylor had to do post O’Neill. Taylor changed formation and phased out O’Neill’s players. We got relegated and went into administration.

In Puel’s case the only players left from 15/16 who feature regularly are Schmeichel, Vardy and Albrighton. Well there’s Morgan as well, but he’s a slightly different case as age would probably necessitate his phasing out anyway.

So, if Vardy, Schmeichel et al are being disruptive then who do we back? Them or Puel.

If we back Puel then are we sure that he’s the manager we want here next season? Are we going to back him in the transfer market with funds for more players - particularly a striker? Do we go whole hog with Puel? Are we sure we won’t do another Taylor?

Or

Do we sack him now and back someone else?

If he takes the captaincy of Schmeichel and starts leaving out Vardy then it might start the end game. If we start winning he’s achieved something quite impressive. If we continue to lose I feel it will hasten his demise and the axe will fall quite quickly.

Ultimately it’s only performances on the pitch and winning games that will persuade the masses to side with Puel over the players. He needs to start doing that - and soon.

Yep, as Joby states. Big decisions require results now, otherwise they look like suicide.

This run of games is critical for Claude's future. We've done really well against three of the best sides in the division, albeit we've only picked up a single point from those games. It looks like we have some progress.

However we now have a number of games against the 'lesser' sides in the division, starting with two at home to Palace and Brighton, both teams involved in the relegation battle. We need to have better performances and results in such matches if Puel is to prosper.

Interesting insight Nev.... where is the comment from PS that "these are the views of Kasper, but obviously he cannot say it so he has asked me to drop CP in it even further?"

As far as I am concerned these are the views of an ex player and he is entitled to say what he thinks without it having a bearing on our players/team.

Are you saying that every time Mrs Vardy tweets something negative etc. that Jamie should be punished by being dropped to the reserves?
In a media led world there are comments flying around from everybody about everybody, thats just how it is......

As far as I am concerned Kasper should be club captain (the way he handled himself after the tragic events earlier in the season tell you all you need to know about him as an ambassador for our club) and let Harry be the Team Captain on the pitch.
Both vocal and obvious leaders, and people who the rest of the young team will look up to and listen to.
