Just a word of praise for super Liam Cooper today. He's been immense for much of this season. Going into the year people constantly told me that he has a mistake in him every game, or that he gets stupid bookings and spendings off which are bad for the team.
This year has one yellow card in the league and no reds. Hasn't been booked since August. For a centre half that's great discipline.
Leading by example.

100 games as captain I believe, I think he's fantastic and watch him with the mascots before a game he interacts really well with the kids. He is an asset to the club.

Cooper has cut out the brain farts and has been a rock this season, glad to see it.

Always been a good player
Was miles better than Pontus last season too but for some reason face hasn’t fit.

This, this a thousand times.
He has always been good, but he doesn't fist bump the crowd like Pontus so he used to get stick.
I said last season (and I stand by it) that him and Pontus could have exactly the same game and some people would say cooper was 6/10 but then if it was Pontus would say he played 8/10.

Good solid player and one of the best centre backs in the league.

A great centre back goes through the game without doing anything exceptional and not appearing in any of the highlights.
Jansson gets all the press for doing so and is loved for it. I love him for it too. But Cooper is a far better defender. Always seems to be in control and very rarely needs to make a last ditch challenge.

Coops is not a far better defender at all, but they certainly have forged a great partnership.
Both deserve the plaudits equally imo

Far better is too strong. But better definitely.
Jansson has been brilliant all year. But when comparing the two Jansson over commits to the ball at times. And is slower to know where the danger is.
Not by much. But every now and again it shows.

At their best, I don't think there is much that separates them

He’s improved a hell of a this season.
Thought both him and Jansson had good/bad runs last year, but Cooper probably just shaded it.
This season, he’s been a revelation at the back. Lead by example, and really improved massively under an excellent coach.
Miles away from the liability he was as recently as 18 months.
Him and Phillips have shocked me how good they’ve shown themselves to be.

Regarding whether he’s better than Jansson, I’d say he isn’t.
They compliment each other well. But I think Jansson is still the better footballer and defender.
