Suarez what’s the point?

He is a curious signing it doesn’t bode well with our summer plans if Emery keeps getting it wrong. I am worried we will need 3 seasons before we can compete.

Ozil looks shuttered lacks confidence and is better off sold.

Mustafi is just a builder not footballer sell ASAP.

Koscielny is spent so has to go.

Mavropanos what’s his use never seen him play.

Leitchesteiner has to be binned.

Cech is gone.

Ainsley Niles is just average must be sold.

Xhaka is only backup but a lazy player we cannot depend on him we need to strengthen midfield.

Elneny what’s the point of paying him and he can’t play has to be sold or released.

Jenkinson is just a waste of space release him from contact.

Ramsey is gone.

Monreal looks spent he lacks pace and aging has to be sold or just backup.

Suarez needs to be returned to Barca he’s nothing special.

Welbeck is gone.

So Arsenal needs minimal seven decent signings and seven decent backups to ever regain top four or challenge.

Arsenal have a huge rebuilding job.

Lucky for them the Europa League is such a money spinner!

I doubt any real Arsenal fan wants either out, tbf.

In answer to the Suarez question, it could well just be bedding in. Depends if it is just a 6 month loan, or a loan to buy. If it is the latter and he is the Ramsey replacement, no rush to get him on the pitch. Wait until he is ready.
If it is the former then it is pretty pointless and we would have been better off giving chances to the likes of Saka and Amaechi.
If it

Surely bedding in (if required) makes sense regardless. Basically you don't want a player who isn't ready taking the field.

Whether he's ready and good enough who knows

What I mean is, if you are buying a player for 5 years you can give him a bit of time to acclimatise. It benefits both parties. Whereas if you only have him for a few months you would want him to be ready almost straight away, otherwise it is a wasted 6 months for both.

Fair enough but I disagree. I think we should just be playing whoever is best at the time regardless. We need to win as many games both domestically and in Europe

If he was some really young player and we were worried about potential for injuries then I'd agree

I believe any success in life is made by going into an area with a blind, furious optimism.

But Ramsey and Ozil are better at this moment, imo. The strange thing is that they were both not playing when Suarez was signed, but have come back in since then.

It's often stated that Spurs are following Arsenal's model, but perhaps now Arsenal need to take a leaf out of our book.

Look at how atrocious we were in 2013/14. Regularly getting beaten and beaten badly by anyone half decent (City 6-0 Spurs, Spurs 0-5 Liverpool, Spurs 1-5 City, Liverpool 4-0 Spurs), players like Adebayor, Paulinho, Soldado, Chiriches, sacking AVB half way through the season.

All it took was a new Manager in Poch who actually had a clue what he was doing, cleared the deadwood, a few shrewd signings such as Dier, Toby, Alli, Son, Trippier etc, a decent 2014/15, and before you know it we're fighting for the title in 2015/16 and finishing 3rd. Shows what can be done with the right Manager and some shrewd investments.

Big talk for a side embarking on a period of austerity as they try to honour a long-term stadium mortgage.

Big talk indeed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't doubt that at all, I'm purely focusing on that specific period I mentioned, coming back from the atrocities of 2013/14 (6th) to the great seasons we had in 2015/16 (3rd) and 2016/17 (2nd).

With the wages you pay, and the kind of transfer fees you've been able to afford recently on the likes of Lacazette and Aubameyang, assuming you spend your money shrewdly, I don't think it would be unreasonable for any Arsenal fan to expect similar progress in the coming seasons. We were in a much worse position than you are now at the end of 2013/14, wouldn't you agree?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The transfers we have made sound good on paper but when you break it down the majority if not all the money came from players being sold.

Oxlade - £40Mil
Walcott - £20Mil
Coq - £12Mil
Perez - £4-12Mil Get load of different reports
Gabriel £12Mil

Sure we have sold other dross but can't remember.
