Wolves v Man U Match Preview [LIVE]

Date: Saturday 16th March
Venue: Molineux
Kick-off: 19.55

Live @ http://www.ja606.co.uk/articles/viewLiveArticle/404944
One match ban enabled

On Saturday evening, under the floodlights at Molineux, in front of a capacity crowd, Wolves will face arguably their sternest test this season. The last time the two sides met was the league game early in the season which ended in a 1-1 draw. But this is a resurgent Manchester United not the lacklustre team that Wolves faced at Old Trafford back in September.

To arrive at the quarter final stage, Man U have overcome Reading, Arsenal and Chelsea scoring 7 goals and conceding just 1 in the process.
Wolves games against Liverpool, Shrewsbury Town and Bristol City were won by less convincing margins, they scored 8 goals and conceded 5 to reach the quarter finals.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has had a tough time in March leading up to this game. A home game against Southampton on Saturday 2nd followed by an away Champions League fixture at Paris Saint Germain on Wednesday 6th was followed by a visit to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal on Sunday 10th at which he suffered his first league defeat.
The busy schedule and the increased workload put on the players by OGS is taking its toll with player injuries, at the time of writing Juan Mata, Ander Herrera, Jesse Lingard, Phil Jones, Antonio Valencia, Alexis Sanchez and Matteo Darmian are all unavailable

Wolves have no fresh injury concerns and Nuno Espirito Santo has the choice of going with his preferred starting 11 as he did last Sunday or mixing it up a bit after the excellent performances of the fringe players he chose for the recent league game against Cardiff City.
Although serving a two league match suspension, Ryan Bennett is available for this game.

The game will be shown live on BBC 1 and on the BBC Sport website.

Gem’s prediction: 1-1 after extra time. Man U go through on pens.

They were fixed insofar as the selections were restricted a la Kim Jong Un style. I played my part with others in pushing for a free vote on scores, and we won. I didn't do it for myself, as I wasn't interested in taking part, but it was the principle. I don't see the competition these days as i have the promoter blocked.

Talking about old contributors - does anyone remember Big Vrag? He was as obnoxious as they come. Never had a good word to say about the club.

I remember him, he was quite humourous at times though. Deja Vu was the biggest of them all

I see Butey's ranting on again about blocking me. Cinci's remark about being fixed was intended as a joke, but I'm afraid our man up North thought he was serious.

I relaxed the rules about the amount of drawn predictions in any round because those who were taking the competition seriously, agreed with me.

There were quite a few who tried to duplicate my user name and a couple who tried to disrupt it. Hence I was going to dis-continue with the competition altogether.

Thankfully those who caused the trouble no longer contribute to JA606.

Just thought I ought to rebuke Bute's remarks. Sorry Gem.
