Scholes all day long

Gerrard overrated big game player. Went 10 years without scoring v United. 2 goals
in 36 games v Chelsea until final appearance

Lampard not as good as either but underrated big game player (CL semi 2008,09, final 08 etc)

Yes Gerrard didn't do it in the big games like the pinnacle of club football, in the final of the CL or the final of the FA Cup. I actually remember Scholes getting dropped a few times in the big games with Butt and others replacing him, as he couldn't be relied upon defensively in a two. Luckily for him United didn't need to worry about that too often, with Keane next to him, doing all his running and defensive work for him. It should be him in these debates but he's not English so gets overlooked.

Nobody covered themselves in glory in 2010, Wngland were rubbish. 2014 Gerrard was 34 ffs and got nominated for player of the season and voted into team of the season. Can't even remember his performances for England in 2004 so I'll give you one by default.

Scorer and MOTM in CL final.
Scorer and MOTM in FA Cup final.
Team of the tournament at Euros for England.
Multiple team of the seasons for Liverpool and England.
Etc.

It was one of his major pluses, the big games and you're trying to turn it into a weakness

Gerrard was obviously a phenomenal big game player. His performances against Milan and West Ham are iconic.

Waiting for Jose's next move before deciding on who to support next wahl?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you see his recent comments in a few Lukaku threads you'll see his "I don't support United anymore" mask has well and truly fallen off.
