On 7th May 1960 Wolves beat Blackburn Rovers 3-0 at Wembley in front of a crowd of 98,954. When the Captain, Bill Slater held the cup aloft it was to be the last time that the Wolves supporters would see that famous piece of silverware in their possession.
Prior to that, Wolves had won the trophy on 3 occasions and been runners up 4 times.

In 1984 Watford were FA Cup runners up losing 2-0 to Everton at Wembley with 100,000 spectators looking on. Ironically, Everton’s winning goal was scored by Andy Gray who had previously played for Wolves. Watford’s Manager was Graham Taylor who ten years later, after 3 years as Head Coach of the England national team, would become Manager of Wolves before returning to Watford.

To reach this FA cup semi-final Watford have had a fairly straightforward run of fixtures having beaten non-league side Woking, Queens Park Rangers from the bottom end of the Championship and 2 bottom end of the Premier League teams, Newcastle and Crystal Palace.
Wolves, on the other hand have had to overcome much sterner opposition. Liverpool were followed by local rivals Shrewsbury from League 1, Championship side Bristol City and finally, Manchester United.

There are supporters of Wolves and The Hornets who were on the Wembley terraces in 1960 and 1984 respectively, all have one thing in common, the dream of seeing their skipper hoist that trophy in the air.
Those that can make it to Wembley on Sunday will be joined by many thousands of younger fans who have never had the opportunity to see their side in an FA Cup semi-final. Only one team can win and go on to the final but one thing is for certain, the lucky supporters with tickets will never forget their day at Wembley.

PLEASE BE AWARE: Wembley Stadium have asked all visiting supporters to enter the stadium early (60 min before kick-off) to clear security and for fans to be aware of Wembley’s new bag policy.
The maximum size bag that Wembley will now allow is an A4-size clutch type bag. Rucksacks, laptop bags and similar are no longer permitted.

The game will be broadcast live on BT Sport 2 and on beIN Sports HD11

Vardy now level with Lineker for Leicester goals. 103.

Burnley giving Bournemouth a spanking.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Vardy now ahead of Lineker after that brace.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Almost to 100 career league goals after today then.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
104 now (for Leicester), according to Gary Lineker.

BBC panel saying Man City were poor, and to be honest it wasn't a very exciting match. Here's hoping we beat Watford tomorrow so we can put our wits against them.

Sterling purchased 550 tickets and gave them away to kids from his old school that support Chelsea and Arsenal!

When I went to see us play Spurs at Wembley I was pleasantly surprised to see they have real ale bars in the stadium. So plan to get inside to have a cheeky final drink there. £5 a pint mind

Good to know that's still the case, had a nice drop of draught Hobgoblin last time I was there. Looking forward to a few bevvies tomorrow.

You're going there so often now the barman will simply say, "The usual, Sir?"
