Butland

Tough one this... obvously Hugo was cr@p Anfield but looked like he was trying to be better with the ball Vs Palace & the save near the end from Zaha was crucial !!! So...

I get both sides of the argument.. great stopper, bad with ball at feet & too many mental mistakes

If we got a decent offer would you sell (Best years likely behind him, Kane/ Jan gets the captaincy) and would you be happy if we replaced him with Butland..... I think I would

Nice to see Angus Gunn flying under everyone's radar.

I don't know whether he'd be willing to swap one squad role for another, but I'd love to see him give Leno a run for it. Especially now that we might be losing both Ospina and Cech.

Good name for a Gooner - can't say I've heard of him tho

Brian Gunn's kid. An absolute unit at 6 foot 5.

Former Norwich youth, then got snapped up by City, now at Southampton. Took him a while to work his way into the starting lineup, but Hassenhutl seems to have decided to run the rest of the season out with him.

He also got called up to the last World Cup squad. Won't be long before he becomes a serious contender for England, imo.

Decent young keeper, Angus Gunn.

He played vs us at the Bridge, top performance.

Didn't do too well at the Emirates, but I guess everyone has an off day.

Right this will no doubt give most of you the hump but....... genuine question would you swap Leno for Lloris?

Forget the Arsenal v Spurs nonsense for a moment, Leno is young and had a great first season and looks a modern sweeper keeper so is not just a shot stopper as Lloris appears to be.

He is also full of confidence which again Lloris appears bereft of.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

At the moment I probably would Dan

I didn’t really rate Leno at the start but he’s grown in confidence throughout the season whereas Lloris seems low on confidence
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It would be a gamble if I'm being honest as plenty of young keepers have had a good start only to fall away later. Be interesting to see how Leno performs after he's made a howler or two.

Lloris might be going through a blip but does appear to be a weak link at the moment. not sure how he is rated abroad but if you got offered good money (40m?) could be worth selling and getting someone else in?

I think even his biggest fan would snap your whole arm off for £40m

I always find goalies form can fluctuate. They are prone to making great saves, or making enormous errors. Name me a goalie that doesn`t make mistakes. They all do at times.

I would sure like to hear Lloris' own explanation of what happened.
As I saw it, he simply failed to gather what was a very weak header from Salah, something any GK should have caught cleanly. The ball then rolled out and bounced off Toby. into the net! Cost us a point.
But of course one could argue that Sissoko should take a lot more shooting practice!
When GKs make mistakes they are howlers, the ones fans do not forget!
Sissoko made an equally big howler - and that one cost us 3 points.

The only club that would be willing and able to pay the money we’d want for Lloris is PSG but they’ve got Buffon so we’re probably stuck with him till he retires or decides he wants a return to Lyon in a few years.

I really hope you mean replace him with Butland and have Gazinigga as our no.1 who is miles better than Butland. Plus Butland will cost a fortune due to his nationality. Is it really worth having him on bench all the time.
