Rangers fans are giving Gerrard more leeway becuase of his name. None of them wanted him in the first place as he is a rookie. That's why he is doing worse than Pedro. Simply put not upto it and never will be. Some guys should stick with the punditry.

As far as the rangers board are concerned it worked wonders though. Record season tickets sold and deflected the attention away from their failures.

In the short term yes.
In fact it has lead to a disaster of a season..forget scraping a few wins and draws against dross in Europe.

If Celtic had won at ibrox at new year, as they would normally have done in previous seasons, we would be 19 points ahead. Unbelievable.

In the short term it was the only thing King could do to get the season books sold in numbers. Europe and the old firm win has kept the revolt down - any other guy than Gerrard would be gone.
