On Saturday Wolves travel South to take on Ralph Hasenhüttl’s Southampton. In the reverse fixture Wolves ran out 2-0 winners but at that time Southampton were managed by Mark Hughes.
Saints were in the relegation zone when Hasenhüttl took over, he has managed to elevate them to 17th place since. But with only 33 points they are still only 5 points clear of the drop zone and very definitely in a relegation battle.

By contrast, Wolves are in involved in a battle at the other end of the table. For a newly promoted side to have a chance of qualifying for next season’s Europa League is nothing short of spectacular. They have a very real chance of finishing 7th in the league but Watford, Everton and Leicester also have their eyes on the prize.

Wolves have made a bit of a hash of games against teams struggling at the bottom end of the table but always seem to raise their game against the top 6. The recent loss to Burnley followed by a win against Manchester United is a prime example.
Perhaps one area that could be improved upon is the giving away of free kicks in dangerous areas. It is to be hoped that they don’t give any away in this game because in dead ball situations James Ward-Prowse is reminiscent of last season’s Ruben Neves!

After the massive disappointment of losing the FA Cup semi-final on Sunday, Wolves will have to pick themselves up and bounce back the way they have done many times before.
Despite their lowly league position, Southampton are no push over but Wolves owe it to their heartbroken fans to produce a good performance here and come away with 3 points.

Gem’s prediction: 0-2

If our great club want to increase ticket revenue, they should ban old farts from purchasing discounted tickets and charge them full price or even double?
They're taking up the same amount of room as the young and healthy, and hold up the queues at the bar when they can't sort their money out to pay for a hot drink.

wolves were happy to have my 50% discounted entrance money when they were crap and when johnny come lately glory hunters like you kept away - so fook off back to your play station.

On this day 60 years ago, Billy Wright became the first player in the world to reach 100 caps for playing for his country

We're not crap now though are we?

For the good of the club, it's time for you old timers to make way for the upwardly mobile, rich and successful corporate season ticket holder.

Just reading that Liverpool legend and former captain Tommy Smith died today. One of the most competitive, hardest (dirtiest) players I have ever seen. But an inspirational player for the great Liverpool side in the 60s and 70s

Would have been sent off in most games in the modern world though

Waste of a joker in the comp and Vardy my fantasy team captain but Leicester losing good for Wolves

Leicester have been a hot tip for 7th after a good run since Brendan Rodgers took over. But that home defeat tonight leaves them on the same points and the same goal difference as Wolves.

But Wolves have played 2 games less

Toon looked like they were on the beach a couple of weeks ago but turned up tonight, quite a shock result I would say but great for us, now if Everyone can slip again.

Not convinced we will win tomorrow though but we have generally bounced back well.
