Band of Brothers

Started watching this again for about the 5th time....

Fricking awesome, i have it as one of the best bits of TV ever created.

Better than any other war related camerawork IMO.

The interviews with the actual guys being portrayed at the beginning of every episode is powerful stuff.

My mrs aint into war stuff at all and even she is more than happy to watch it a second time.

Its damn near perfect

It is very good although I've only seen it through once. Could do with a second viewing as it's been years.

Keep meaning to watch The Pacific which I think I'm right in saying is a sort of spinoff to Band of Brothers. Anyone recommend it ?

Loved band of brothers.
It was one of the precursors to the binge watch series phenomenon.

One of the best pieces of television ever made. The production values are on par with most big budget war films, yet the character arc of Winters, and Malarkey for example is something that just couldn't be replicated in a stand alone movie.

Actually a little jealous of those of you yet to watch it.

didnt enjoy it nearly half as much to be honest... a lot of the action scenes were really dark so you couldnt really see anything, i think cos I knew more about the European campaign made BOB better

One of, if not the best TV series made still. Tend to watch it every couple of years over 2 or 3 nights and it grips you every time. Such brilliant character development and the production of each episode is better than your usual war movies. Comments from the actual soldiers before each episode just brings it home too.

Absolutely love it, I highly recommend reading any of the books by the auther this is based on (Stephen Ambrose).

The Pacific is very different, I see it as that one is more akin to "The Thin Red Line" whereas Band of Brothers is more "Saving Private Ryan".

Thin Red Line. Now there’s a film!

Might have to investigate The Pacific then.
