On Saturday Wolves return to Molineux for the final home game of the season. They host already relegated Fulham, led by caretaker manager, Scott Parker. Once again, the ground will be packed to capacity with a home crowd who haven’t enjoyed their football as much for many years.
The two clubs were promoted together at the end of last season and whilst Wolves have enjoyed their most successful season in the Premier League, Fulham, along with the other newly promoted club, Cardiff have struggled to get to grips with demands of the top flight.
Ironically, being already relegated, Fulham will probably feel that they have a point to prove in this game and will certainly not be throwing in the towel.
Having conceded 76 goals so far this season, it is clear that Fulham are not a side who favour ‘parking the bus’ but prefer to try to compete by playing football. It is to be hoped that they adopt this attitude again for this game as open football brings out the best in the Wolves team and makes for an entertaining game.
Wolves go into this game on the back of a comprehensive demolition of Arsenal followed by a win against close rivals Watford at Vicarage Road.
For Fulham, a home win against Everton and an away win at Bournemouth were followed by a home win against fellow strugglers Cardiff, the type of run of results that the Cottagers fans would have been happy to see earlier in the season.
Whilst Fulham have only pride left to play for, Wolves have a very real chance of European football next season. To make that happen, 3 points from this game is vital and with the home crowd behind them, the boys in old gold will be giving everything.
The game will be shown live on beIN Sports HD11
Gem’s prediction: 2-0

Nuno's getting his honorary doctorate from the Uni on the pitch as well I've read.
Dont get all the blather about this wrestler though, I know he's Raul's mate and all. I guess he must be well known in WWE circles?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Take a look at Wolves Twitter account today. Lots of wrestler clips showing his arrival and interaction with players. Coady is hilarious - very likeable guy. Also Wolves are showing Goal of the Season contender from Jota (v Cardiff). ⚽️🥅🤾🏼♂️

Bolton situation gets more odd by the hour.
Bassini is claiming he is now in control, BWFC say he's not, EFL still saying he hasnt got proof of funds.
Meanwhile Brentford have been awarded a 1-0 win in the game that never was.
Utter shambles. And putting aside for a moment all of the obvious lingering angst from 95, sad to see.

It is sad to see and Wolves fans with memories of the Bhatti days can say there but for the grace if god go Wolves.
But if you were a Bolton fan what do you hope for. Their choice seems to be to fold and start again from a non league position or be taken over by this idiot. Bassini has twice been made bankrupt, nearly took Watford out of business in 2013 before being banned from running a football club for 3 years. Still owes Watford £1.5m and owes Watford directors £4.5m. He has been described in court as evasive and full of empty threats. And when Watford were relegated after he left them he sent messages to the local press gloating about their failure. Lovely guy

The Lych Gate is difficult to get in and packed to the rafters before a game but now that the Dog and Doublet doesn’t open in the day time it’s my pub of pre game choice. They do sell very good real ale

Pretty easy to get served in the Moon Under Water DJ hence our reluctant pre-match haunt but you're right the beer in the Lych (correct spelling this time) takes some beating.
Not been in the Dog & Doublet for ages but they did a nice pint of Ludlow Gold once upon a time in there.
Was in Ludlow a couple of weekends ago and had a lovely pint of Gold in the Charlton Arms on the river by Ludford Bridge. In the sunshine. Perfect.

Love the Charlton Arms and Ludlow Gold is my choice in the D&D. The Dog and Doublet is up for sale at the moment and until it’s sold it’s only opening on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 18:00 to 3:00 am

Thing is that this Wolves team isn't going to need to improve very much to threaten to break into the top 6 next season. We have only made one significant change to the way we have played this season and that was when we changed from 343 to 352 at the end of November and introduced Dendoncker to the team.
If you look at the league table since the beginning of December, and that's more than half a season, we have only got one point less than Arsenal and only two points less than Chelsea and Spurs. And in that period we have played one game less than all three of those teams. And in that period we have 7 points more than the 8th placed team Crystal Palace.
So we only have to match what we have done for the last 5 months to knock on the door of the top 6 next season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
With Wolves winning at the weekend, Spurs losing and Arsenal drawing, Wolves are 5th in a league table covering 1st Dec to now. And as that covers 23 games it can’t be called a fluke
