Wasteful

We played well and created enough chances to actually win the game. Just one of those matches where nothing went out way.

We played well and created enough chances to actually win the game
---------------------------------------------

Err....no you didn't. That's nonsense. For that to be true, you'd have to ignore all Barca's goals and the chances they missed too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Before we pushed everyone forward and started leaving spaces behind, we were well on top and created more chances. At the end Barca obviously had more chances through counter attacks.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

And I'd argue that had Barca not been leading 1-0, they would have played more on the front foot. Of course goals change matches. But to say you created enough matches to win the game goes too far when you just facking lost 3-0.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Are you saying that Barce sat back once they went 1 nil up? Fact is that we were playing well and forced them to change their tactics. Unfortunately you can get punished for being wasteful. We dominated possession and created more chances (even with their counter attacks included).

After their 1st goal they barely created anything until the 2nd (which was very fortunate) and their 3rd (admittedly a world class goal).
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Liverpool had 3 clear chances basically. Mane in the first, Milner early in the second (or was that Henderson), and the Salah miss immediately after Barca went 3-0 up. By your standards of ruling out Barca's two late 3-on-1 situations, we might as well rule out the Salah chance, leaving you with 2 clear chances. Oh, and Vidal missed just as good a position as Milner when he chose to square the ball for some reason when the clear shot was on.

I'm not denying that you had chances and the scoreline flattered Barca. But to say you had enough chances to win is ridiculous. You didn't. Plain and simple.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Rakitic did the exact same thing from an even better position in the first ten minutes.

Liverpool were the better side for a lot of the game and had good chances, but Barca had more chances in the match.

That's how I'd put it. Liverpool controlled the flow of play, but there is no doubt Barca created easily more chances. I thought the first half was 50-50 (don't know why some are claiming Liverpool dominated it - they didn't), but Barca had a really rotten period in the first 25 or so minutes of the 2nd half. Couldn't string 3 passes together and sat deep and narrow as they were overrun. Valverde's removing Coutinho and bringing on Semedo bolstered their overrun midfield and freed up Messi to get closer to Suarez and they became more of an offensive threat.

That game should never have been 3 0.

Daylight robbery
----------------------------------------------------------------------

What?

It's not like they cheated, their goals were all legitimate and they could have scored a couple more.

You should of course have scored at least two though.

You played well and the scoreline doesn't reflect the match. Nothing to do with robbery though

Sheriff, yep I’d agree with that evaluation.

Each of Milner and Salah could have scored two. The referee was on their side.

Just look.at their second goal. I the k fabinho tackled it to Suarez who hit the post and it falls straight to GOAT ffs.

We needed to take at least one of the 3 clear chances we had today .

Now cam we do a Roma?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Now tell us(in English) what you think about goals 1 and 3.

I feel very frustrated. I can take a loss but 3-0 its like we no better than them lot across the other side. All I can hope 2nd leg we play for pride and at least win the game.

We weren't robbed, we were beaten by a team with better players. OK, the boys didn't score, but they showed time and again their ability to get in to scoring positions. They gave their all.

As Jurgen said before the game, if LFC win, it's down to the team. If they lose its down to him.

Next Tuesday? Well, anything can happen but I'd be lying if I said I thought we will win.

Their overall game plan was better than ours, attack, harass, challenge, whinge, snarl, the whole nine yards.

And it worked.
