Time to Panic?

Liverpool going to back to back CL Finals, challenging for the league. City possibly winning the domestic treble. Gap of over 20+ points.

These two seem like they can dominate English football for the next couple years. News that City are close to signing Bruno Fernandes and possibly Joao Felix. They seem to mop up the top talents very quickly.

Onto United, the decline has been steep. Yes we've won a couple of trophies, but ever since SAF, we haven't looked like challenging for the league. We have money, but it's spent stupidly. We have a good marketing and commercial team, but how much longer will that last?

Surely the board know we need to compete to make money? They can't be that stupid. It may be time to accept we are heading towards mediocrity. Liverpool's time has come. City and Liverpool will be the United and Arsenal of the 90's/00's.

If you've seen my articles previously, you will know I'm not a reactionary poster. This has been coming for a long time, we may just need to accept it. Unless we make a lot of changes over summer, I can't see us challenging for a good 2/3years, if that. Every other club is getting better, while we are standing still and making sub-standard signings.

Klopp has spent 3/4 years building this team, getting his ideas and his system in place. Even without Salah and Firmino, players have come into that team and done well. We need to give Ole time. I would be much more confident with Poch, as he seems to be good at building teams.

I hope we don't fall even further behind in the next couple years, but big changes are needed.

The majority of the time - trophies, not including the League and CL mean next to nothing bar a great day out in the grand scheme of things.

Panic, of course, we're doomed, we're all doomed.
No it's not time to panic, for various reasons, the biggest being that it is only football, a game, a sport.
Also United are a big, famous and rich club. Even if only by chance we will stumble on the right man at the right time.
The Glazers know nothing about football, but a lot about business, so they know the product has to be right, and they will invest until it is. It could even be this season we get a DoF who knows what he's doing.
Also we need the magic signing, we've had them before, Dennis, Eric, Roy, players who transform a good team into a great one.
Liverpool VVD
City Aguero
It could happen to us in any season.
For one season RVP did it.
It will happen again, but meanwhile get the team super fit, buy players to fit our system.
Trust Ole and back him.

It is time to panic if you are that type of person.

I would wait until the new season kicks off and we see where we are with personnel.

If we don't get a DoF in by then though nothing is going to change.

This is what im waiting for personally, I'm not panicking... yet.

It's just not good seeing our two rivals perform well. I guess we just gotta accept this for a while until things do change, hopefully Ole influence this change.

The gap between us and City last 3 years....

2017 - 9pts
2018 - 19pts
2019 - 29pts (as things stand)

Failure.

Top Lad

As I said last night, Ole needs to force the squad to watch the Liverpool game twice, in the hope it clicks with the lazy overpaid players as to what can be achieved by hard work and effort.

It's not just enough to make players sit down and watch. It's easy to watch something and think you can do it when in reality you can't. United can't replicate what Liverpool have at the moment.

Klopp is a manager you would want to play under. Charismatic, energising, exciting brand of football, keen to develop players etc. Not only is he a big name in football, gut his philosophies both tactically and personally are what make Liverpool what they are today.

With the greatest respect to Solskjaer, who is he? One bit of brilliance in his career, but not exactly a manager where the big players would think, "I'd want to play for him". Yes, United alone is a selling point, but the negativity around the club is making it much less of an attraction now, not to mention the fact they are in the EL next season.

Too many big name characters who probably think they are bigger and better than United. I think we all know Pogba is this player for instance. You can't say the same about Liverpool, nobody has an ego bigger than the club and they are a squad with terrific togetherness. Lose the star names like Coutinho who don't want to play for the club and think they are better than that and bring players who want to play for the club. It has taken Klopp 3 years to build a side that is a serious contender for every competition now. Do I think Solskjaer is the man to take United to that level? No, in my opinion. But if he is given the time and the backing, he might do.

You need to cheat to do it in fairness. Just the 4 open investigations isn't it Paul?

Abu Dhabi Blues = cheats and still can't make a European final.

Nowhere am I suggesting replicating Liverpool.

What is peeing most of us off is the lack of any kind of effort at all.

Players like Sanchez and Pogba don't want to play for the club though, they go where the money is.
