Liam Henderson to deliver...

Well done that young man, all the way to Italy 2 years ago and he’s reaping the rewards.

Last night Verona were promoted to Seria A with Henderson playing a huge part throughout the season. By all accounts, they love him over there and he’ll now be playing against some of the biggest teams in European football.

A Scotland call up for him can’t be far away either, especially if he impresses next season in Italy’s top division.

I said at the time he left, we’d regret it and nothing is happening to prove I was wrong.

Turned out to be a very good weekend for ex-Celtic players and Scots, Liverpool winning the champions league, VVD and Robertson both magnificent. To think we had several pundits in Scotland ridicule the notion about VVD being the, or one of the best defenders in the world at some stage in the not too distant future. Liverpool will do well to keep him from joining Barca or Madrid in the summer.

Meanwhile, my legs are still in bits from that game on Saturday

Didn't mean to hit send there.

Christie being out, Rogic being injured, Ntcham was also injured at the same time as those 2 as well.

We ended up with Bitton and Brown playing, 2 guys who's first thought is to pass backwards or sideways.

Henderson, low and behold can actually see passes more than 5 yards and towards the opposition goal, if you can't see why that would have been a huge asset during the pitiful performances this season then i can't help you.

His current team don’t seem to think he can see this brilliant forward play that often seeing as he started less than half their league games, and was subbed in most of them.

I just don’t see how you can say that we can regret him leaving when he’s done very little to show otherwise from what info is available.

Interesting that he played the exact same amount of league games as Ryan Christie did at Celtic, who you stated had an outstanding season.

I'm not slagging Christie btw, i'm the one who stuck up for him when others said it's a sign of us lowering our standards.

I thought he was terrific.

Christie scored 11 goals-including the winner in a cup final - and had 9 assists over 38 games for us.

Henderson scored 3 goals and had 5 assists in 29 games.

Compared to Henderson, he had an outstanding season.

I just don’t think you can back up your claim that we regret letting him go.

We obviously have differing opinions on how Henderson was/can be as a player.

As for those stats, Christie played 10 more games and was involved in 10 more goals i think, it's hardly blowing him out the water for stats but that's par for the course giving they're two different type of players.

Sorry NNH, but nearly 4 times the amount of goals and almost double the amount of assists (especially against a guy who you’re saying can pick a pass) is blowing him out the water-irrespective of the 9 extra games.

difference in league though as well though

verona came fifth in their league and got promoted, they dropped points in 23 games and won only 13.

more likely to score more goals at celtic lets be honest.

As i said, they are both different players.

Xavi's goals and assists are nowhere near Iniesta but flook me could he pick a pass.
