Clarke deal done

And straight back to Leeds for season long loan

Can't complain regarding this specific deal.

However, this type of deal is everything that's wrong in professional football.

Imagine you own your house, and it's likely to rise significantly in value. Then a big firm comes along and says, "We'll buy that house off you, and charge you rent to live in it. But we can kick you out whenever we want to, we'll and pocket any increase in value."

Don't want to come across as a lefty, but it's all wrong.

Yes it's all wrong Warwick!

Loans I hate them, a cancer in football.

That's a very good post imo....

How much is it costing us to develop their player for them?

Spurs are a caring team

------------------

if they were they wouldn't make signings like this in the first place. Its a silly move all round for everyone involved (except Ian Harte). Signing him at this point in his career is quite cynical by spurs and it shouldn't be allowed

Leedsforever, I don't think its a silly move..

Spurs think they've bought a star of the future (regardless of we may think, that's why they've bought him) - rather than have him playing on the bench they're loaning him out.. again, standard to gain first team football.... and what better place than the club he supports, the club he made his professional debut for with players he already knows.. he doesn't have to move house, say goodbye to his dog, or kiss his mother good bye...

whilst Leeds get 9 million sheets in the bank, and still have a Clarke to help try and get us promoted.

I thinks its ok to be fair... bravo..

of course it will all fall flat on its face if.. Clarke doesn;t get first team football next season... or if Clarke plays so well that Spurs want him and take him from us early as we charge for promotion...

but I'm sure some others on here will go into more detail about the negatives...

It’s a shame but no one will care too much if this time next year we’ve celebrated promotion thanks to the help of a few loans. I suspect Villa & Blades fans are.

It is - not saying totally happy about it, but it’s the reality of where we are.

That by the way, before others pontificate, is not defending the owners.
