Laurie Leaves

Have to say that this is a bit of a shock to be honest. Laurie seemed to be a steady, pragmatic guy who understood the club and the fans whilst tempering some of the more outlandish statements from little Jeff.

Maybe he's been tapped by one of the bigger clubs, who knows but the timing of this at a crucial time of the year is very odd. He might not be directly involved in recruitment of players but as MD was bound to have some role in the decision making process. I guess more will come out in time but can't say this looks like good news on the face of it.

With so many genuine fans on the waiting list for season tickets, it makes sense that the 'perks' have to go. After all, as has been mentioned, many were probably sold for a profit anyway.

Agree. It's very different now to when we were getting in 20,000 at a push

Unsubstantiated rumour on MM that LD had applied for a position at Harlequins, whether that was before or after the "breakdown" in relations is unclear.

I know that he lives in Molesey in SW London, Harlequins would be an easier commute, but quite a step down in size of role. I would not think it would be by choice.

I'm not so sure, there is a lot more to life than making as much money as you can. His family never moved to Wolverhampton so that would have been a big strain for a start.

Nuno will follow - Man United will come calling when they sack OGS before Christmas. What a mess our closed season is.

Seen his interview in the Telegraph? That's grounds for divorce right there.

An ex- copper basing his evidence on “probably”. This is a throwback to the 1960s and 70s.
