Please Cheer Me Up

I spent some time during close season and as we approach Leeds centenary year I have been reading through some of our history, the good and bad years, the glory years and the disaster ones.
The bit that really sticks in my throat was...
.... Leeds were relegated to the Championship at the end of the 2003–04 season
I am now in my 80's and have been looking forward to the time when we return to the Premier for too long. December 2018 I thought we had it in the bag.
Top of the league, 7 wins on the trot. 23 games played In the bag I thought !
Then what happened? We lost it. I have looked at the 3 teams that made it compared to Leeds over the 2 halves of the season
Team . 1st half .. 2nd . Total
LEEDS .... 48 ... 35 ... 83
NORWICH . 47 ... 47 ... 94
SHEFF U .. 38 ... 51 ... 89
ASTON V .. 33 ... 44 ... 76
==================================================
We are now favourites to top the Championship. I read these pages every day and thank all the regular contributors to keep us all well informed on the current goings on at the club. You guys have great debates both for and against but generally all have the hope that this year could be it.
I read about some of our best players being sold, although we get one back on loan.
Bielsa is committed to the club which is great but then I read of unrest in the dressing room. We had a pretty good defensive record last season but were well down on the goals scored front. I hope Bamford comes good on a regular basis supported by a strong midfield.
BUT been here before at the start of very season for far too many years and need cheering up. Can THIS really be our year. Positive responses please
Please let me forget ... .... Leeds were relegated to the Championship at the end of the 2003–04 season. 15 YEARS AGO. !!

For those really interested in past history in great detail give this a try.

What is it with our players? Injuries are part of football but surely we get more than our share. Ayling out for four weeks and Bielsa never rushes players back until 100% satisfied they are fit so probably more than four. It seems like we are gambling on Cooper and White staying fit all season as well.

This club is jinxed !

Bit of friction between head of performance and the manager, the treatment room is like emergency ward ten, Clarke is going for a scan on a groin and there’s people in everyday, injuries killed us last season and looks like they will do again, MB won’t listen apparently it’s his way or nothing,

Way things are shaping up a lot of the under 23s are going to get plenty of game time as we accumulate relentless injuries.

I don't think our injuries were were above average per player last season. The problem was, we didn't have that many players!

Oh dear. You guys are not helping with very little positive news. At least the bookies think we have a good chance of promotion this season at around 6-4 and 40-1 for relegation. It is looking more like finance is at the bottom of all the problems at the club. Do we have a lot of debt/loans outstanding at stupid rates that drains the club every year? How many fingers in pies ? With the support the club has how come it is 15 years since top flight football.
Parachute payments make the division unbalanced and it needs a rich benefactor to close the gap.

BUT 15 years
