Nice to end pre-season on a high note. Bring on City.

Jose used to be much, much better than half decent at his job, look up his record. Not now though, now he wants to be a star, not a manager.

in many way I have come to wonder if the world was taken in by an invention of Jose, looking back at the early.years under Robson as translator he was a scruffy no mark and he's now a scruffy no mark again.

its like he invented this invincible character with the suave looks and lucky jacket that shot to prominence and he's traded on it since.

the Utd failure was huge. he was handed great teams prior that that point but when asked to build something without a great team in place he couldn't deliver.

makes me wonder about pep guardiola and his invention of the intelligent thinker and super coach, the guy to indulges a passion for culture and museums in his pastimes. is he another spoofer who was handed top players at barca, bayern and city.

could be do a klopp? who knows. pep is working very hard to never be found out trying to build from ground up.

I think you are wrong on both of them moreinjured. You don't have records like theirs without talent, and plenty of it.

I thought international footy would suit jose, think he thinks hes got one or two more club jobs in him yet though.

Obviously talented but all Pep seems to do is take over a team that's already dominating the league, spends a boatload of cash and then goes on to dominate the league some more while failing in Europe.

Pep is the best manager. Obvously he needs a certain type of players for his style to work. Bayern is a great example. They win year in year out their league but when they had Pep he made them even better.

We would have won the league last year If they had Mancini, Pellegrini or any other manager with the same group of players they have.

He has a clear style of play with a lot of risks.
He makes players better than they are in a team environment. Watch Sterling, Walker and Stones for England and City. Silva for Portugal and Aguero for Argentine is also a clear example.
No team has ever made 100 points in a season and in his second season his team almost reached the same points again.

Good point but how would Pep do if he wasn't the favourite? If he joined a team other than City, a team that spends more money than him and he had to be an underdog? So far, apart from Barca (Real are loaded of course) he has always been the favourite and to add to that he outspends the rest of the league by quite some distance.

We have never seen that and probably never will.
