I have wanted Vydra all summer.

He would be an outstanding signing in the 10 with the ability to cover up front.

Anyone think bamford would be more suited either playing with someone or himself dropping into the 10?

Yeah I think same.

But saying that, I wouldn’t have had Roofe been able to play the lone striker role well, and he was excellent last season.

The style and formation massively helped him, though

I’d go out and get a big strong quick striker with a good hit rate - not cheap but surely we have some funds

Maguire has just been bought by Man U for 80 million. I can't believe that price tag, or that they paid it, for this player. A few years ago Real bought Ronaldo for 80 million euros but that was Ronaldo. Is this ridiculous inflation the reason why we can't or won't sign a centre-back on a permanent? And was there a smarter way to have dealt with the Jansson problem, like loaning him for this year out with a higher sell-on clause?

I can't get my head round what's been going on at all this summer. Tours to Australia and Sardinia? BPF sold, leaving us with Casilla - whose errors cost us promotion last year? Lots and lots of questions and worries - we've gone backwards in terms of quality of defenders available.

Can’t believe Fulham held on to Mitrovic. Love that player. If by January they’re out of it and we’re in top 6, I’d want club going after him.

And I agree jaz, 80 mill for that lad is laughable. Especially when you see De Ligt went for less.
