or whatever it's called started this week and once again showcased what a complete and utter shambles it is, and once again smashed the argument for including colt teams as they offer virtually nothing to the competition and, along with the ludicrous decision to include non-Scottish teams and non-league teams, continues to diminish what was a once important competition for lower league teams.
The colt teams were in first round action and half of them were pumped out in front of paltry crowds. This is because nobody gives the slightest of fecks about colt teams.
Some attendances:
Albion v Hearts - 207
Berwick v Rangers - 303
Brora v Aberdeen - 150
Queens Park v Celtic - 321
Absolute nonsense.
I just googled the scores because as you'll have noticed, they weren't displayed anywhere because nobody gives the slightest of fecks about this shambles of a competition, which will only get shamblier (new word for this cup) as the other teams are added.
Fraserburgh 2 Ross Co 3
Queens 2 Celtic 2 (Celtic won on pens)
St Mirren 1 East Kilbride 0
Berwick 1 Rangers 2
Kelty 4 Killie 0
St Johnstone 1 Cove 4
Albion 1 Hearts 4
Livi 1 Formartine 3
Brora 6 Aberdeen 0
Hibs 3 Elgin 4
Motherwell 1 Spartans 0
Hamilton 4 BSC Glasgow (who the feck are they?) 0
They should stop this farce now and put it out of its misery. Revert back to a straight knock out between the lower league teams and give these teams a reason to take it seriously.

You always round down if it's below half.
Amateur supporter of an amateur team.
I expect nothing less from you tbh 😂

Did no one mention that Celtic signed promising Rangers youngster Liam Burt on Tuesday, he scored the winning pen against Queenspark to put us through the same night

We let Burt go. He'd been with us a while and had a lot of injury problems.

It's a right shame, it's literally the only trophy some fans have ever seen their team win in their entire history.
I don't particularly mind the junior sides. The foreign sides are bearable but there's no point in a bunch of children from Premiership clubs playing. Not sure it does them much good either, getting knocked out by postmen and butchers.
