Forest v Fleetwood Town Match Thread

Fleetwood Town arrive tonight with their manager Joey Barton; once rejected by Forest as a youngster for being too small/ not good enough.

After a successful but somewhat controversial career in football, D.F tried to sign him, but I expect the aggressive little 'person' wouldn't sign for £10k/week.

Fleetwood have started off the season exactly the way head coach Joey Barton would have wanted, with two wins from the opening two Sky Bet League One games.

The Cod Army’s first game of the season was a comfortable 3-1 win over Peterborough United at The Weston Homes Stadium. Harry Souttar started the scoring off early, with a headed goal in the third minute. Josh Morris followed that up with a delicate chip over a rushing Christy Pym, and a long-range Danny Andrew finished the game off with a free-kick in the second half.

This was followed with a 2-1 victory over AFC Wimbledon. Paddy Madden and Morris were on the score sheet in the second game, as they completed a comeback after Kwesi Appiah opened the scoring in the first half.

Ash Hunter took a year-and-a-half out of football to watch his beloved Nottingham Forest across the country – and is now set to make his 200th professional appearance against them.

The winger was released by Burton Albion at the age of 17 in 2014, but after dropping to non-league football and impressing at Ilkeston, he was snapped up by Town in 2015.

Before making the leap to full-time professional football four years ago, the Derby-born youngster spent time away from the game to watch Forest.

Now he is expected to be part of Town’s travelling party when they take on Forest at the City Ground – where he has only previously visited.

Hunter only found out about the draw courtesy of his friends and is relishing bringing up his 200th appearance against Forest.

If he also manages to be on the scoresheet, then his customary back-flip celebration will be on display.

After a less than completely convincing start to the season Sabri Lamouchi will want a 'no banana skin' game and will name a strong side with perhaps a couple of the youngsters on the bench.

The players got a run around in a competitive match. Is there much more that can be added to that?

Udders 0-1 Lincoln probably the shock result. Walker on the bench for the Imps who have John Akinde as their main striker at the momens.

I had a feeling it was going to be an interesting draw. Chance for a treble over the Sheep. Yes please!
