Thank You For Tierney

I'm here in, hopefully, peace. There's been a lot of wumming with his transfer to Arsenal and it's easy to see why. Arsenal and Celtic don't have the best history together, between Rangers previously owning Arsenal shares and the Eduardo thing, but it's been rankling me to see the triumphalism on display about actually getting him.

I became an Arsenal fan due to three main factors coming together all at once. I started a paper round at 13, my dad was into Arsenal, and it was 2007 where we had Fabregas, Rosicky, Hleb and Flamini in midfield. Fabregas was my favourite player in the world. He taught me about how intelligent the game could be. He felt like one of our own. You should have seen the celebrations against Tottenham, the goal at the San Siro. The way he fought for the badge and for the man who, if we didn't know better, one would assume was his father (Arsene). Losing him to Barcelona felt like having my heart torn out. My relationship with football was never the same after that.

And we Arsenal fans have had to endure losing players we'd invested in again and again. All the way back to Liam Brady. We lost David Bleeding Rocastle to Leeds for crying out loud. It's more than a bit rich to act like we're the big boellocks, even if a section of your lot were acting as if we were a small club like Tottenham.

I just want to say that, all banter to one side, losing a local lad who, for you, practically WAS the club, isn't fun and I wish the idiots were not quite loud. For what it's worth, he seems a genuinely nice lad who I hope we are able to naturalise. He's got it in his nature to invest in the identity of a club and he could easily captain us in a way many of our previous captains have not. Talent and ability seem to be a given, and at this level and money it should be. The kind of man, however, isn't. I feel Arsenal will be a better place for having him in it.

Wish we'd fvcking had him on the park last night.

You've got yourself a player at a cracking price by the standards of stupid EPL transfer fees. He's only going to get better and at only 22 could nail down the LB berth at your club for years. Hopefully when you see him play in a few weeks you'll see that.

Will keep an eye on Arsenal games during the season

With nobody to man the megaphone, Tierney's absence was always going to be missed.

This is only a Twitter thing, normal people have moved on.

Appreciate the thanks but we didn't gift him to you, you broke our transfer record for him and most normal fans wish him nothing but good luck in his future career.

The lad is a great player and if lives up to his potential (and I don't see why he won't, his attitude is spot on) he could be a top player for you guys.

Even though we've been on the end of a few hammerings in the CL recently, he was probably the one guy that never looked out of place at that level.
