Whilst I’m pleased we are through to the next round, I can’t help but feel a little disappointed with how many of our players started in their natural positions.
I guess our rookie manager still has much to learn with only one full season under his belt, you don’t win as many tainted titles as Neil Lennon has, without being able to think outside the box. Not many managers are astute enough to play one of their main creative attacking midfield threats at left back, going into a massive Champions league qualifier when they have a fully fit natural left back sitting warming the bench.
Hopefully Gerard has learned his lesson and we see a bit more creative thinking in our starting eleven against Legia, Allan Mcregor out wide would be a good start.

Its taken a while, especially for those ever so astute Kerryfail accountants, but I guess you have now realized that "all that money" goes to shareholders and only a small fraction to the team

If you were a director in a massive business then id be making sure we got a healthy portion of profits in bonuses and wage rises. Quite right too. Its much more difficult to run a big business than it is to be a footballer. Also, dividend payments on football clubs are generally nominal due to constant need to reinvest. Also, your wage bill is massive.

The ROI on player sales is actually a more astute business plan than spending heavily in order to have a chance of CL football. Im sure thats what the board think. Why risk it when there is a chance of qualifying with the standard 2-3 million type player.
