Up until the Lottery win, Spurs used regularly beat up City home and away over the past 40 years, they have won something approaching 30 games, and had loss barely 10. In the Prem era, City hardly recorded a win over Spurs until the Arab takeover.

I don't think it makes a difference now. A club need a big turnover in a year with ffp rules. You still need to invest the money wisely. Look to Man United they are an example that money alone doesn't make you successful. A good manager and football people in the boardroom is also important.

Spurs and Liverpool have done this the last few years.

City had to invest big in their first years under the Sheikh to close the gap with the traditional clubs.

The absolute mega money City have has made a massive difference, they had hardly won a trophy for donkey years before the lottery win, and like Chelsea before them, are now hoovering up trophies for fun.

They have spent more on their full backs, than most Prem clubs have on their entire squads.
