Who handled it better.

There's no doubt United and Arsenal and the late 90's early 00's rivalry between them was the driving force behind the Premier League becoming the juggernaut it is today.

There is also no doubt that we have both in the last 7 years faced the difficult task of transitioning from our legendary managers and the absolute power they wielded, this is what I'm looking to discuss here.

Who has handled it better?

United didnt seem to have a clear plan to change when Fergie left. It was pretty much just a change manager.

With Arsenal a lot of structure change happened even when Wenger was still there.

Two different approaches.

No it’s the hole where Lingard, Mata, Rashford and Martial were playing. We tried to sign Perisic because Mourinho didn’t have faith in Rashford and Martial. So yes, we were searching for a player in the position he plays in. Our weakest area is central midfield. We signed a championship winger for a position that we desperately need quality in. Maguire and AWB are the only two players we’ve signed in the last year that actually get in the first team. Arsenal signed Torreira, who’s a decent dm, by the way.

Not really a hole then, is it!

I don't agree with you. I think United discovered Sanchez was gettable and went after him.

As for the rest, see my last post!

But we're not talking about when SAF left, we're talking about the last 12-18 months.

Lucas Torreira is a very good DM, it's our CM and CAM positions that lack quality although early signs are Ceballos could solve the issue for this season.

Xhaka, Ozil and Mkhi are all pretty shocking and shifting them while bringing in better quality should be high on our to do list

We didn’t have a hole at right back or cb, seeing as we had players that could play there. But I can’t be bothered with an argument over semantics.

Erm, the article is literally about the transition from Fergie/Wenger.

Read back for the comment I was replying to that started off this particular part of the discussion.

Didn't have a hole at right back?

Okay mate, enjoy your day.

I’m using your logic that having players that can play there means there’s not a hole.

Except that's not what I said.
