Linfield 3 Qarabag 2

Superb performance from the Part time players against the zillionaires from Baku in the Europa League Play off 1st leg. Gut wrenching to concede a penalty in the 93rd minute but still one hell of a result.

We were 10/1 to win at home against a team ranked over 250 places above us and who drew twice with Athletico Madrid just two seasons ago in the Champions league.

David Healy and Pat Fenlon have done a magnificent job and have built a team that is a joy to watch. How players of the quality as Bastian Hery and Shayne Lavery are playing in this league is mindblowing but long may they continue to wear the Blue Shirt.

We are one game away from winning the lottery and although the chances are extremely slim you just never know and with this team we will score away from home.

Great effort, but tired legs and the late pen means two away goals to offset in Azer.

Two guys in work were there and though Qarabag looked better than us, so tough away trip.

Still good result as with Rangers .😊

Excellent result can't help but feel the late goal might be a hammer blow come the end of the tie though.

I would be shocked if we do pull off a result but wasn't expecting anything at all last night either.

To cap off a great night one of my sons had a £10 double on Linfield and Wolves at 30/1.

Baku is a delightful city, even if you lose, it will be a nice place to lose in.

Earl,
I admire your passion for the Blues who played well but are out of the tournament!
Too bad that David Healy showed such lack of class in blaming the officials. This whining, followed by a shallow "best wishes" for their opponents does not advance the cause of NI football. His time for protesting the choice of officials would have been as soon as they were made public.

Also, enough of the "tired legs", "part-time" players excuses. Why even enter the tournament if you are going to drag this up all the time. Linfield, in spite of your thinking to the contrary, do not always have a "right" to win.

Have a wonderful week-end!

Unlucky blues from first leg, but well done on the effort.
