Big week

I’m trying to think of a week that has had so much significance for both OF teams and nothing springs to mind.

Both teams have tough games on Thursday in the Europa League although Celtic appear to be in a much stronger position to qualify and perhaps rest some legs should we score first.

Both teams will be keen to avoid extra time if possible but obviously the main objection of both is to qualify for the EL, it’s pivotal to both teams imo. For Celtic we need it to keep a few players up for the season as a domestic campaign in itself might not wet the appetite for Eddy, Ntcham etc.

Rangers need it for the cash, that simple, should they not qualify they’ll likely lose one of Morelos or Tavernier to balance the books.

Then of course, it’s the big one on Sunday, first OF game of the season. And both teams go into it in decent form. I think both sides would accept a draw if offered it now but a win would be a massive statement for either side.

Good result for us yesterday, Bayo played very well and probably for one of the goals, definitely not the first but he’ll get the 2nd as his touch is probably on target. Unlucky not to score with 2 other chances but he’s a handful and he’ll do ok this season if we can keep him fit.

Big Forster unlucky with the penalty, he just gives me a bit more confidence than the other 2 already and the defence seemed to look more assured there too.

Of course, once again Scott Brown let us down with another ridiculous challenge and a penalty. Not sure what else it’s going to take to get this guy out the team, he should have been phased out last year, he wasn’t and now we’re stuck with him because Lennon doesn’t have the b@ws to drop him completely. McGregor, Ntcham & Christie is the ideal midfield 3 for me.

Big Ajer continues to impress and it’ll be interesting to see how we line up in these 2 games this week. Biton is ideal for domestic games at centre half but I’m not sure at Ibrox....

Thursday:

Gordon

Hammed
Ajer
Julien
Boli

Brown
McGregor

Forrest
Christie
Johnston

Edouard

Sunday:

Forster

Hammed
Ajer
Julien
Boli

Brown
McGregor

Forrest
Ntcham
Christie

Edouard

I think that’s what we’ll go with personally.

Johnston starting at Ibrox is an absolute no-no, bring him on as players tire.
