Few quotes from Ole this morning;
Injuries to Shaw and Martial
“They’re doing okay but they won’t be involved in this game. After the international break, hopefully Anthony will be ready for the Leicester game and Luke maybe another week or two after that."
Smalling
“It’s just come up the last couple of days, this opportunity for Chris. Of course we sat down yesterday and discussed it. At the moment we’ve got six fit centre-backs. I couldn’t promise Chris regular football. He’s on the plane over now and I think he;’ll enjoy the experience over there."
"There are not many English players who have had chance to play in Italy. Hopefully he comes back better for it."
Darmian and Rojo
"There has been some interest in Matteo [Darmian] over in Italy, wanting to go back home.
"Marcos [Rojo], he's staying definitely. We've got a squad now that's less in numbers, but still big enough and strong enough to have coverage in all positions."
Zlatan
"Well, if he was 28 and not 38 next month it's a big difference. But Zlatan has had a great time here and of course he's still doing well. He was just unfortunate that he got his injury when he got it here"
"He never rented my house but he was looking at it and we can speak a native language. If he's serious, I'll always speak to Zlatan.
"I don't think that'll happen, no. He's had a fantastic career and I wouldn't expect him to be serious either when he said that."
Defensive record
"We hope to go down there and look stronger at the back. It is something which we have always needed."
DDG talks
"There are still ongoing talks, I can’t update you no."
Sanchez decision
"I think Alexis needed to go.
"At the moment we know he has been here for 18 months and it's not really worked out for him.
"For him as well to restart and get himself playing regularly, getting himself scoring goals, that loan will only benefit everyone in the end.
"We're going to watch every weekend now to see Romelu (Lukaku) and Alexis playing together. We had a decision to make and I'm trusting Anthony [Martial], Marcus [Rashford] and Mason [Greenwood] to be our centre forwards."
Pressure on Greenwood
"Mason is not used to playing as little as he is. He is used to playing every week, now he is coming on for half an hour here and there. He won’t be expected to play five games on the bounce, he is cover and an option behind Anthony and Marcus."

Smallings injury record picked up in the last few years, he knows he can play most weeks for a good side. He's right to leave, can't fault him.
Jones probably won't be able to hold down a first team place anywhere because of his body being made of glass, so in his eyes he might as well be our back up rather than someone elses.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think this. He's better of getting 30 games here through a season managing his body than 30 games at a mid-table side where he gets injured afer 15 straight games, is out for months, then plays 15 more. He'll get paid more at United too. I don't think he's a bad squad option in that scenario.

Rojo is absolutely trash and should have been first out the door.
I love his passion and if he was a defender in the 80s or 90s then great. However in this day and age he is a red card waiting to happen with the introduction of VAR. How he hasn’t seen more reds is beyond me especially with them two footed lunges he loves. Plus we are now looking likely we want to build from the back. If that’s the case then Rojo certainly is not your man. He is absolute garbage on the ball. That game against City in Dec 17 at OT must have been one of the worst games from a cb in terms of ball possession I have seen. And don’t even speak to me about him being left back cover. Would rather stick Romero though

Indeed, we should have got that deal done with Everton on deadline day.

I would have still tried to ship out Rojo.
Lindelof, Maguire, Tuanzebe, Jones, Bailly is enough for me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bailly isn't even an option as back up until mid season though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Then we use Tuanzebe and Jones as back up until he is fit.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You need five CBs in a PL squad, particularly if you’re playing European football.
Nobody goes into a season with only four players who can play at CB. It’s suicidal.

Maguire and Lindelof aren't injury prone players, we should be okay.

Tuanzebe is looking like the first choice back up, he's been the one on the bench in our PL games so far.

Rightly or wrongly I think this is how Ole sees it;
Lindelof - First choice PL starter
Maguire - First choice PL starter
Tuanzebe - Sub PL, starter cup games
Jones - Starter cup games
Rojo - Sub cup games
Any injuries in those and everyone moves up a notch.
Bailly - N/A
